11. Parents pt. 2

BILLIES POV

When we arrived at my parents house house I looked in the backseat where Rose was strapped in. She was asleep with her pacifier hanging out her mouth.

I got out the driver's seat and closed the door as gentle as possible to avoid startling her. I walk over to her side of the car and open the door.

I get her unbuckled and I grab her pacifier and one of her stuffies I grabbed just in case she needed something to squeeze or hold.

I bounce her on my hip a little to get her to wake up a little. I walk up the stairs and onto the porch and knock on the door.

I look down to see her eyes starting to open. Suddenly the door opens and I see mama standing there.

"Oh my goodness! Is this the little baby girl we've heard about?" Mama spoke quietly. I can tell she didnt want to startle the baby.

I nod my head yes and she steps to the side to allow me to walk in. I make my way into the house and sit on the couch. I see dad sitting on the couch on his phone.

The second he looks up and sees the baby on my hip he immediately sets his phone down on the stand and smiled at Rose.

Shes awake but shes just still resting her head on my shoulder. I start rubbing her back and take a seat on the couch between my mother and father.

She lifts her head up and sees my mother smiling at her. I know shes scared to meet new people so she just looks at me with worry and confusion in her eyes.

"That is my mama, baby." I tell her gently as I point to my mother. Mama waves at her and Rose starts to turn pink as she gives my mom a small wave back.

"And this one over here is my dad." I say while pointing to the other side of me to show her where my father is.

"Hello little one. It's nice to finally meet you, sweetheart." I'm glad they are speaking gently to Rose. Its starting to make her a little more comfortable around them.

She smiles at him before looking back at me. I know my parents want to hold her so I'm gonna ask Rose first to make sure shes okay with it.

"Baby girl, can my mama hold you? Shes been very excited to see you." She gives me a little nod and I see mama sit up a little straighter as I turn my body to face her.

I lift my baby up slowly so she doesnt freak out. I set her on mama's lap and she hesitates for a moment before cuddling up to mom. Mama's hands go around her waist and starts to rock her side to side.

I hand mom the baby's pacifier and I see Rose's eyes close. I stand up and I look at my dad and point to the spot I was sitting in.

He doesnt even think twice before moving closer to the baby cuddled up in mama's lap. He starts to rub little circles on her back. Rose is starting to let out little sounds to tell him that she likes that.

They both coo at her while I make my way to the kitchen. I walk in to see pepper walking around. She walks over to me and I squat down and start to pet her.

She growls a little and I mock her. I stop petting her and grab a water bottle from the fridge. I unscrew the top and take a sip and I walk back to the living room.

I see my father now holding the baby and shes sitting up with her pacifier still in her mouth. Shes looking at my father while my mom is playing with her hair.

Rose is surprisingly smiling at him. Hes bouncing his knees which is causing her to bounce too. Shes letting out cute little gurgles and giggles.

I guess shes actually starting to like them. That makes me unbelievably happy. I would probably cry if she was afraid of my parents. I also notice shark is in a little ball next to mama's feet.

My dad stands up with rose still in his arms. He sets her on the floor and pepper walks up to her. Her suckling on the pacifier gets quicker and you can pretty much hear her suckling.

She sees me behind pepper and she makes grabby hands at me. I'm of course not gonna say no to her so I walk over to her and pick her up and then sit on the floor with her on my lap.

Pepper walks closer and shark is starting to stand up doing his little stretch and shake before making his way over to us. They both start to sniff Rose a little.

Then shark sets his paw on Rose's hand. She starts to giggle at him and starts to pet his head. I can tell pepper is getting jealous of all the attention shark is getting from Rose because she makes her way to stand next to Rose and rubs her nose against her arm.

She lifts her other arm and pets under peppers chin. Both of their tails start to wag aggressively making her giggles get louder.

Shark started to bark at her in happiness but it ended up making her jump and move her hands away from the dogs.

She turns around and suddenly starts to cry more and louder. I cradle her in my arms and rock her trying to calm her down.

I could tell shark got scared of what he did cause he starts whining while rubbing his nose on her arm. I know he didn't mean it and I could tell that rubbing his nose against her arm is his way of telling her hes sorry.

Soon enough she calmed down and her tears stopped. She was a little scared to touch them again but after some courage she was back to her happy self.

I'm glad she likes both my parents and my dogs.
