Normal - Lando Norris

A/n: My very first request. To:  @LilithLilac63 Hope you love it. Also lowkey awkward to write about Luisinha she's lovely, but anyways I delivered. Oh and y/n/n is your nickname :)

Lando and I had always been wonderful friends. I'd been with him when he started karting. Our childhood homes only being streets away ment we could spend every second of every day together. It was when he got into f2 when I realised I liked him as more than my best friend. He was so incredibly happy jumping up and down and he had hugged me. That hug was what did it for me. Suddenly the butterflies in my tummy were oh so obvious. And they stayed. For years, never dying down and only getting stronger. I never acted on my feelings. He was my best friend, I couldn't. I was okay with what I could get. Being the only woman in his life was enough. Or so I thought. He never told me he was seeing someone until he introduced his girlfriend at the family dinner. 

"Guys? I am home! I brought a guest." I ran up to the door hearing his voice. I had been helping his mom cook. I didn't even bother to take off my apron, too happy that he was finally home. "Lanny! You're home!" I was too happy he was home, slipping down the hallway giggling as I nearly slipped. I quickly halted my movements when I head a female voice. Looking up I saw her, his arm wrapped tightly around her as she took of her heels. She was gorgeous, which made the jealousy even worse. "Y/n/n! I missed you." Lando smiled at me. Not letting go of the girl to hug me. Lando's mom followed me into the hallway a little later. Brushing off her hands on her apron. Fuck I am wearing an apron. I quickly took of the apron and took the bun out of my hair to fix the mess they sadly already saw. "Mom, this is Luisinha, my girlfriend." 

Looking back on the moment I am not sure how I survived that dinner, my heart had stopped at the moment he had introduced her as his girlfriend. I am not sure it has ever started up again. It was weird, painful and miserable to watch him with her. I avoided them as much as I could. Rarely spending time with Lando as he was always with her. I blamed our distance on our busy lives but in reality it was all about her. 

Everyone seemed to love her. And I am sure she was great but for some reason all she did got on my nerves. Her laugh hurt my ears and her bright perfect smile hurt my eyes. She was too perfect. It hurt seeing him with someone so perfect. Knowing that made me realise he would never be with me, I wasn't perfect like her. Her model like legs annoyed me most. I was short and I knew that but seeing her gracefully move around like she was floating pissed me off so much, why couldn't I look like that? 

I had been awfully miserable for a while. And Max had picked up on it and tried to cheer me up the best he could. We'd play video games on discord a lot, because he lived with Lando I never wanted to hang out at his house. When I was in a slightly happier mood he'd stream as well. Fans asking him why I was never at their house anymore, but he would ignore those questions which I was grateful about. 

"Y/n? Are you excited for Winter wonderland?"  I smiled thinking about our weekend plans. "Very, I can't wait to spend time with you and Lando just like old times, it's been too long since it was just the three of us." I was okay with hanging out with them knowing she wouldn't be there. "Three? y/n you know Luisinha is coming right? We could so do 2v2. I didn't even realise that could be fun." Luisinha was coming? Suddenly winter wonderland didn't seem so great. I shook it off but after we ended our call I texted Max that I didn't want to go. But he said I had too, I had to get outside at some point. And maybe he was right. 

And maybe I should have stayed home. Because then I wouldn't have to watch what was currently happening. Lando's arms around her as he taught her how to play the game. It was awfully adorable. I clenched my jaw as I heard her giggle. Crossing my arms and staring them down. Why couldn't that just be me. I got taken out of my thoughts by Max wrapping his arm around me. "You know, you could at least act like you like her." He laughed and I hit his chest but before I could react Lando spoke up. "You guys coming or what?" He sounded slightly annoyed. "Yeah yeah we're on our way." I look back at Max and roll my eyes before joining Lando and Luisinha. Max squeezes my shoulder before we reach them in reassurance and I smile at him. "y/n, your turn come on." Lando pushed me forward to the basketball game and I force a smile at him. "What was your score?" Max asks Luisinha. "103, I sucked so bad." Her giggle made me focus back on the game. I could easily beat that score.
