A/n Can we just talk about Carlos in this pic? Look how pretty he his with them rosy cheeks and the pretty doe eyes o.o

What I was doing was horribly wrong and I knew it. I met Max a year ago now. I honestly didn't know who he was at first. We both got drunk while clubbing that weekend and one thing led to another. It was supposed to be a one night stand but we kept in touch. And three months later it was a regular thing. Some how our busy schedules started to merge. Always being in the same countries. It was 6 months in when I realised he had a girlfriend. I should have stopped it then and there. But I didn't, which was weak of me. So when he invited me to one of his races I wanted to decline. That wasn't the deal. His life was his and mine was mine. We never told each other about our lives, maybe that's why I had to find he had a girlfriend via his social media which I happened to stumble onto. Yet here I was. The VIP-access pass was burning into my skin lacing me with much more guilt. He said he couldn't get me in under his name so he'd get me in under his teammates name. That should've been another red flag, but I think I was wearing rosy coloured glasses because all I could see is how great it was that he was inviting me. I looked down at the pass in my hand 'guest of Carlos Sainz Jr.' I had no idea who that was.

I stood a few meters away from the entrance. Max had made it clear he couldn't show me around so I had no idea where to go. "Hola, you look lost." I turn around to see a guy wearing a similar shirt to the ones Max always wore. "I am Carlos," He looked down at my vip badge. "The person whose 'guest' you are. Max told me about his extra guest. I don't mind you being under my name. My family couldn't come anyway." I looked at him, he was Max' teammate then. 'Extra guest' How much did he know? "I am y/n, eh thank you for letting me visit. It's very kind of you." He smiled at me. His teeth were perfectly white which made his mile very bright. "You're awfully kind for a Max guest." He chuckled wrapping his arm around my shoulders. Wow he does not know personal space, okay. I clutch my purse as he speeds us through the crowd. "Where are we going?" He slows down a little smiling down at me. "To find Max of course. He must be happy to know you have finally arrived. I was waiting for a good 15 minutes there man."

I stop, digging my heels into the gravel. "Oh no I don't have to see Max it's fine. Just eh... show me to like the place I can watch or something." He looked at me questioningly. "No Max? But you are his guest. You are going to watch from the garage right? You will see max you know." He chuckled at the end. I swallowed harshly. "No, no. I am Max' secret guest. I shouldn't go inside really. It's fine." He let go of my shoulder so he could look me straight in the eye. "Why are you a secret? You're too pretty to be a secret." You giggle. "Thank you mr.Sainz that's very kind, but trust me I deserve no kindness." His eyes sadden and he reaches out for my cheek. "That can't be true. And call me Carlos por favor." I smile at him as I move away from his hand. "Carlos..." I am cut of by the sight of Max nearing us that makes me suck in my words. "He can't see me. He won't-" Carlos lowers his hand from my cheek and turns around just to see a upset Max. "y/n, Carlos. I see you've met. y/n can we talk?" He glares at Carlos before turning to me. I nod and smile at Carlos sadly before quietly following Max.

We move into an ally and I feel him wrap his arms around me and I smile. "I've missed you." He whispers into my ear before turning me around and shoving me against a wall. "Max..." He stops my sentence by kissing me. Max was never really a fan of talking. After a while of making out he says he has to go back before people start to miss him, and I nod staying behind in the ally. Guilt taking over as soon as he leaves. In the warmth of his presence it all fades away, but as soon as he leaves the guilt is back. I can't keep doing this, but I do.

When I move out of the ally I see Max enter their garage. I still have no clue where to go. I walk past the garage and look inside. I nearly drop my purse at the sight. Max' girlfriend is wrapped around him and they're smiling and talking to his team. It hurts seeing them be so open about what they have, when I can't be. Wishing the floor would swallow me and my guilt so I would never have to face it ever again. I shouldn't be doing this. If the girl only knew. I feel so sorry for her and it's all my fault. "Hey you okay, you are shaking?" I slightly jump at the sound and feeling of Carlos standing tightly against me in the door opening. "No.. I. Oh I should really get out now. Excuse me, oh my." I ramble pushing past Carlos. I should never have come but it made me realise I have to end it. I can't end it face to face I will never get past his charms. "Hey hey wait up. You aren't okay I am coming with you before you pass out. You are as pale as a ghost." I didn't realise Carlos was following me. "Oh Carlos no, don't worry about me. I should go now. It was really nice meeting you." I smile at him sadly when I look up my sight slightly blurry from the tears I didn't realise I was holding. "Oh y/n, what's wrong? You can tell me. You're my guest after all." He wiggles his eyebrows at the end of the sentence making me giggle. "I can't Carlos, I should really go. It was a mistake to come." He looks back at the garage. "Does Max not want you here? Because if he said something stupid. You are my guest, he can't say shit." He comes closer to me. "No car, I am the stupid one. I-" I let out a sob and he holds onto me quickly. "Shhh, it's okay you aren't stupid." He has no idea. "Max, he. I, We." I have no idea how to explain it all. "I am max' side chick." Saying it out loud hurts. "I shouldn't be. It's so wrong. I realised he had a girlfriend 6 months ago. I should have stopped it. I am hurting the poor girl. I am so sorry." He strokes my back as he listens. "Hey, don't just blame yourself. He shouldn't have made a move on you in the first place. It's okay you got attached to him. He did this too. As for the girl. I am like 80% sure she cheats on Max too." He is trying to make it look better than it is I guess. "No Car, I-" He stops me grabbing my face and making me look at him. Wiping his thumb over my tears. "No, he shouldn't have. And he should definitely not have put you second. How can anyone put you second?" He sighs and smiles at me. "Thank you Car, I should really go now. It was very nice to meet you" I try to back out and turn away but he stops me again. "Hey no you are my guest. Come on let me show you around." He grabs ahold of my hand and drags me back to the garage.

"Wait, how do I look?" I ask and stop him before we go in. I was just crying I must look puffy and red, I don't want people to see me like this. "Gorgeous, now come." He says it without any hesitation making me blush as he pulls me inside and shows me around the garage. "This is my car, and this is my helmet. And this is my engineer." He pats a guy on the back as we walk uptown him. He's showing me around like a little kid and it's adorable. "Ah Carlos, does your guest want a pair of headphones so she can hear you during the race?" He smiles at me and I blush. "Oh no, I am fine. I am just going to stand in that corner and be in no ones way." I point to the back. Carlos puts his arm around me and boops my nose as he start's his sentence making me giggle. "You are being too kind, of course you are going to listen. It's what all the girls the drivers bring do. Come on babe." He puts the headphones on my head and I blush at the word babe. He takes out his phone and takes a picture at me. He cooes at it and shows it to his engineer who laughs at him and I take the time to look around. I find Max staring at me his arm tightly around the girl. I look away quickly. "Carlos? Can you show me some more stuff, preferably outside." I nod my head at max and he smirks at me. "Come on babe. I'll show you anything you want." His engineer whistles and his team laughs and I look at Max who is clenching his jaw. We walk outside onto the paddock. "Ever seen a race before?" I shake my head no and Carlos goes on to give me a crash course in f1. "That's a lot of info, Carlos. I won't remember all of that." I chuckle. "Well come to another race then." He smirks pulling me closer making me laugh. "Thank you, Carlos. For everything. You are being really nice. I needed this." He smiles at me sadly. "You deserve better y/n."

"y/n, come on." I turn around to see Max coming out of the garage. Pointing to an ally. He starts walking but when he realises I am not coming he looks back. Carlos' arms tighten around me as he glares at Max. "Hey Car, calm. My battle not yours." I giggle putting a hand on his chest slightly pushing him off. "I am staying, okay?" He asks before letting go and I nod. "y/n, come on." Max repeats himself a little more pissed off now. "No." I cross my arms. "No?! You are my guest. You can't say no. That's not how this works. Now come." He had come up to me and grabbed a hold of my arm. "Au, Max no." He pulls on my arm as his grip tightens. "Dude! Let her go. You heard her, no?" Carlos pipes into the conversation and I silently thank him for not leaving. "Shut up, dude. This doesn't involve you." He pulls on my arm again. "It does, she's my guest. Now piss off mate, you are hurting her." Max lets go of my arm and Carlos takes a hold of it tracing his finger over the red marks on my arm gently. "You okay, babe?" Max shoves Carlos. "The fuck did you say?" Carlos turns to look at Max. "What? What's your problem mate?" Carlos silently goes to stand in between me and Max. "You are. Now come on y/n. For fuck's sake you are testing my patience." He tries to step past Carlos but he steps along. I put a hand on Carlos shoulder making him look at me. "I am okay, and as for you Max. I think you want to leave now. Unless you want me to tell your girlfriend about what we were." Max blinks in shock. "We were? You wouldn't. Come on y/n calm down, let's think about this." He looked sad, almost begging in his voice. "No, I have thought about it. Now if you'll excuse us. Carlos has a race to win." I wink at Carlos and pull him back into the garage. "Alright alright calm down. I ain't winning no races, love." He chuckles. "You could. Don't talk yourself down. Everyone has a shot at winning if they believe in it." He smiles at me. "You are too good for this world. How about if I get on the podium I get to take you out for dinner?" I smile at him and wrap my arms around his neck. "You can do that without a podium." He pulls me closer and kisses my cheek. "Now go beat his ass." He chuckles and gets his helmet.

He sadly didn't get a podium. "Sorry guys." I hear him over the radio. He sounds sad. His engineer smiles at me before answering. "You did great Carlos, better luck next time. Now come back quickly there's someone here that's still awfully proud of you." I smile back at him, I was proud indeed. I hear Carlos laugh, his laugh makes my heart bubble in excitement. "On my way."

I stand at the edge of the fencing they had put up to not get lost in the crowd. "y/n!" Carlos jogs up to me with his helmet in his hand. He hugs me. He's all sweaty but I don't mind. "You did so good, Car." He chuckles. "You just say that because you've never seen a race before. Anything is good in your eyes." I hit his shoulder. "So what, can't I be proud of you?" He smirks and his arm around my waist tightens his helmet hitting my ass. "Depends, does it come with reward?" His cheeky remark makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. "Come here you cocky idiot. " I pull him in by the collar of his race suit and smash my lips on his making him smile before kissing me back. He pulls back and puts his forehead against mine. "I am so happy you are my guest. Now about that dinner, can we just get roomservice because I really want some more of those rewards." He wiggles his eyebrows and I playfully hit his shoulder again but nod my head. "I would like that."
