Chapter 4

Tatsumi looks up to see the person who just saved him from being a dangerous beast dinner.

"Tatsumi my love what happened where is wave?" Esdeath asked

"Oh out of any one it had to be her." Tatsumi said to himself

"Gotta think of something quick." Tatsumi continued to himself

"Wave and I were ambushed by a member of nightraid. I ended up getting thrown into this river and Wave chased after him." Tatsumi lied

"Oh Tatsumi there you are." Wave said after running back

Esdeath looks at Wave.

"Wave I heard you and Tatsumi got into a fight with a member of nightraid." Esdeath spoke

Wave confused looks at Tatsumi.

"Just play along." Tatsumi mouths

"Yes commander we did encounter a amember of nightraid." Wave played a long

"Hmm alright then we should head back to camp." Esdeath says a bit suspicious

They start walking back to camp. Esdeath tries to hold Tatsumi's hand but he just slows down a bit so he can be near Wave and not her. Which only upsets her but she hides it.

"Man, where were you?" Wave whispers to Tatsumi

"I happened to get into some trouble with more dangerous beasts and I ended up falling into the river." Tatsumi lied

"Oh guess that makes sense oh by the way thanks for covering me." Wave said

"Yeah no problem." Tatsumi replied

"I was trying to save my own ass but whatever." Tatsumi said to himself

They arrive at the camp to see Kurome eating her cookies

"Okay Kurome you're going with Wave while I'm going with Tatsumi." Esdeath said

"Yes commander." Kurome said

During the night Kurome and Wave go out hunting while Esdeath and Tatsumi get ready to hunt. After getting ready.

"This will be my time to impress Tatsumi since all the very powerful dangerous beats will be out." Esdeath thought

They go through the woods of fake mount to look for any dangerous beast. After a few hours they don't find anything. Tatsumi finds this as the perfect opportunity to try to convince her.

"Esdeath." Tatsumi said

"Yes my love?" She asked

"About last night." He said

"Go on, continue." She said

"As I've said last night I think we should fight for the revolutionary army and against the empire." Tatsumi continued

"And as I've said Tatsumi that will never happen because you will be changing for me." Esdeath said

"Think about it, you and I fighting together." Tatsumi tried pulling at Esdeath's strings

Esdeath starts having a little fantasy have them fighting together but quickly snaps out of it

"Tatsumi I'll say it again, no I'm a general of the empire." Esdeath said

"Yes I know you're the general of the empire but what about us fighting together?" Tatsumi asked

"Tatsumi, my allegiance is with the empire not the traitors to the empire. How many times do I have to say it for you to understand ." Esdeath said

"The empire is corrupt and I will not stand by it." Tatsumi stood up for himself

"Tatsumi you know if you were anyone else I would've killed you for treason but since I love you I won't ." Esdeath said

"How can you say you love me but not take what I say into consideration." Tatsumi fought back

Esdeath was very hurt by Tatsumi's words. She didn't understand the feeling. It could only be described as a bullet through the heart. Esdeath went into a thought to think about what she was going to say next. It took her a while to come up with something. She opened her mouth but before she could say anything something big attacked
