(Before Asher)
Let me just quickly clarify why I got detention that day... It all started with:
"Hello, Cleo. Were are you heading in such a rush?" Avery asked, knowing that we were both on are way to Lunch.
"W-What do you mean?" I asked back, stuttering like a idiot... While Avery's 4 little followers behind her giggled at my answer.
"Oh, Don't play dumb with me Cleo. We all know your on your way to go apologise to your precious Nathan that your just not good enough for him, Oh! And how emotionally unstable you still are about being an orphan." She rudely added, trying to get a rise out of me.
But she just had to throw in that last part...
As crazy as it sounds... I love Avery just like a sister. But ever scents we started High School together she's been torturing me about being adopted.
Why can't she just leave me alone, to fend for myself. Does she NEED to contribute to my embarrassing, and emotional High School experience?
"I... I'm just on my way to Lunch... Avery." I finally gave her an answer.
"Good! You can buy me an ice cream, little sis!" She warned me.
"Great!" I sarcastically cheered. "But first I need to..." I added, as I pointed to the restroom that I thanked God was conveniently put there, right next to the Cafeteria.
"Go, we'll save you a seat." She said sounding like her evil self...
I didn't hesitate to rush into the restroom. I waited in there intill I knew for sure they made there way in to the Cafeteria. When I quickly, But quietly exited the restroom, I was stopped by a good familiar voice.
"Cleo!!" Comar called out. My best guy friend... Other then my boyfriend Nathan of course .
In fact other then him... I didn't have anyone else to really talk to besides Katly and maybe Nathan (but It's hard talking about my feelings with him).
Before I could turn around... I was already wrapped in his arms. I smiled even though I couldn't really breath with him squeezing me like that.
"Your back!?!" I squeaked.
"Yup! But just for a little bit... We should go talk?" He answered but then turned it into a question.
"Well... We should talk but not here. Averys in there... Waiting for me." I answered him as I pointed to the Cafeteria .
"Oh...... Then let's get out of here!" He whispered.
I know it's not a good thing at all to skip up school... But... I hadn't seen Comar in two weeks... Seeing he left to go visit his Dad.
I thought about it... And right before I gave him my final answer... I thought about it again. I sighed then said, "O...Okay..."
"That's my girl, Cleo!" He cheered, hoisting me up into the air.
Later we found ourselves both... In the principles office... Comar was trying not to laugh at my half annoyed and half angry stare I was giving him.
When the principle walked in, he was thrown back at the fact that I, out of everyone else in Mayde Creek High was sitting here in front of his desk. Why? For attempting to leave school-grounds during school hours...
Principal O'ken muttered, "C-Cleo? What are you doing in my office? Am I to believe you tried leaving my campus with this young man?"
"I... I... I..." I was speechless! 'Why on earth am I doing in the principles office?' I asked myself. I felt like disappearing and leaving Comar to his brilliant (BAD) ideas. But it was too late.

Twenty minutes into Detention...
"Hey, Cleo" Comar whispered trying not to wake up the principle.
"What??????" I asked even quieter then him.
"Sorry, I got you in trouble..." He mumbled.
"Sorry? Well, sorry's not going to get me out of trouble at home. There's already enough stupidity going on there..." I hissed back at him, looking annoyed.
"I'll make it up to you...." He whispered.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head.
A few minutes later I looked over at him and quietly said, "I'm glad your back Comar." I shot him a smile and he did the same to me.

After Detention, Comar insisted to drive me home even though It only took a few minutes to walk. But I went with him anyways.
"Comar, what did you want to talk about earlier?" I asked feeling a little worried, for some reason.
"Oh, yah... I wanted to tell you that my parents are finally getting back together." He answered looking unreadable, seeing his hair covered some of his face.
I know... Its dangerous to drive with hair in your face but he likes his hair like that... And well, so do I. It's always been his style.
"That's good right?" I asked shyly.
"Yah! I mean I guess, Hope it works out this time... You know?" He confessed. A frown appeared on his face.
"I hope so too!" I assured him that I cared too.
There was a minute of silents. Then I felt dizzy and confused.
"Comar...?" I croaked
"Yes?" He answered with a half smile.
"Are... Are you leaving?" I asked... Getting myself ready for his answer.
"Uh... Yes..." He answered me with the answer I was dreading... If he only knew how much his friendship ment to me, he wouldn't of answered so easily...
I tried to hide my face with my hair... But he knew I was upset.
"Hey, don't worry. This may be a good thing... I mean... For my parents and everything, you know?" He sounded way to unsure.
"B-But...I..." I sounded so needy but I knew I needed him.
He took a deep breath then said, "You know I...I hoped you wouldn't of taken it this way... But... I have to go. And it sucks, yah... You know I value our friendship, but I can't wait forever..." He paused and I almost fainted... 'I.Can't.Wait.Forever.' my jaw dropped to the ground as I replayed those last words in my head.
"What do you mean!" I asked with my voice getting louder.
"You know exactly what I mean... Cleo. You have Nathan, you never really NEEDED me..." He emphasized the Need word.
"Yes I did! And I still do!" My voice cracked as tears filled my eyes. Feeling stupid for not knowing about his feelings. The puzzle in my mind looked complete as I sat there in the passenger seat on the verge of tears.
Comar didn't say anything else... Then I broke the silents again, "When are you leaving?" I asked with anger in my voice.
"Friday after school." He answered.
"So that's it?" I asked, as I reached for my backpack that was on the back seat.
Comar sighed and answered, " How about I call you later? When it all sets in... Okay?" He asked sounding impatient as I just sat there. Even though he put the car in park at least 3 minutes ago.
"Fine!" I answered quickly as I opened the door and slammed it. Then without looking back to him, I swung the front door open...
And that's when I saw the family at the table...
