"No. I refuse to accept it," Darragh said in an exasperated tone. He looked as if they had asked him to dance in a tutu for the council but then, he would take that any day over this. Headmaster Seoras looked at him over his glasses and frowned. "I didn't ask your permission, Darragh Seoras."

He threw his hands in the air. "I'll take lashes, exile, anything but not this. I'm not a babysitter. You can't do this to me. I'm not even qualified to teach."

"I second that, headmaster. I don't want him anywhere near my sister." Fallon spoke loudly. Darragh narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean by that, Major?" he asked, dragging the 'major' through his teeth. Fallon scoffed at him. "Exactly what you understood, Verlin."

"There they go again," Lorcan said to Merry. He smiled weakly at her and shook his head. "They can bicker for hours at a time. It's their routine. Sometimes, I think he's more of a brother to Darragh than me," He said. Merry returned back to the pair who were fighting like an old married couple. "They look like they'll tear each other out," said Merry. Lorcan chuckled. "Oh, they do. You wouldn't know about it." He added sadly. Merry liked Lorcan. He was handsome, not the lazy handsome like Darragh or the hulking one like Fallon, but a calm presence. He was the sort of person who would ask if you were hurt even if he was the one who had been burned. Even though he was the headmaster's son and dressed in rich a rich dark cloak, he had a protective aura around him.
