"Ugh Camilo would you stay still??" You whined, clenching on the boy- well, your hands for he has shapeshifted into you. You were trying to modify your newly bought dress because it didn't fit you that well. You wanted to atleast look presentable on the date you'll be going tonight.
"Camilo would you stay still??" He mocked and rolled his eyes. He didn't want to be here, not because he hates you or anything but because you were going on a date and it wasn't with him! "What's about this Alejandro guy anyway?" He scoffed, slightly lifting the skirt of the dress he, as you, was wearing. "And why do you have to dress so extravagantly for him?"
"Well first of all, it's none of your business! and second this is my chance to finally have someone to love and cherish me their whole life!" You clasped your hands together and dreamily sighed. "I don't wanna mess things up and look dumb again, what if this boy becomes my future husband? I don't want to remember our first date being a complete disaster!" You added,
"That's cringe" he said.
Weird cause your hands started to move on it's own and 'accidentally' poked his side with a needle. "AH! THAT HURT I KNOW YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE."
"This is why you get no bitches Camilo."
He scoffed again and decided to not say anything back. You see, he does get bitches! Believe it or not a lot of girls actually like him in the village, the only thing stopping him from having a relationship with one of them is well, you.
He's in love with you but even though you guys are really close and can practically tell both of your darkest secrets to each other, he can't bring himself to confess. "Alright! It's done! Take it off! We still need to go to the market to buy stuff my mom asked'' He groaned but still did what you told him to.
"Why do I have to come?" He complained but to be honest even if you didn't ask, he'll come with you anyway.
Finally arrived at the market, you both noticed that it was unusually full of people. "Hm amorcita, you should probably hold my hand or something so you don't get lost" Camilo casually suggested. You looked at him like he was crazy,
"What? It's not like it's our first time holding hands"
"Y-yeah but–"
"Is it because you're going on a date later? What about it, it's not like you guys are girlfriends and boyfriends already" He shrugged. "It's just a date—"
"OKAY! Okay! I get it!" You replied, quickly grabbing his hands and led him to the stalls.
"Excuse me!" "Sorry!" "Coming throuuuughh"
After purchasing what was needed, both of you decided to eat at one of the village's restaurant. You decided to treat him today since he did help you with your dress dilemma.
" Yes Camilo, you can order whatever you want"
"You're the best cariño!!!" He exclaimed a little too happy. Your orders came and you couldn't help but chuckle at his expression. "You sure do love food huh?"
"Yeah but I love you more" He confessed like it was nothing and started to stuff food in his mouth. Your heart did flips upon hearing what he just said but you tried your best to not show it. He always does this, always making you feel flustered. At first you thought he just had a very flirtatious nature and was like this to every girl but that wasn't the case.
You used to have a crush on him back then, but that stopped since you thought you had no chance and think that he deserve someone else better. You tried getting rid of those feelings for him by dating other boys but let's be honest, those feelings wouldn't be going anywhere soon.
"(name)?"
And if he did like you, he would have done something about those dates you've been going to, I mean, all those dates with other boys do end up being a disaster but it's not like Camilo is the one doing those things–
"(name)!!" Startled, you shot your head up meeting his hazel green eyes. He looked at you confused, "Something on your mind?" You quickly shook your head.
"Okaay.. so I was saying don't you think we're practically having a date right now—"
"(name)! There you are!" Both of you looked to where the voice came from and it was the gut guy.
"I see you're having a date with one of the Madrigals! Good for you. Here, take this your mom asked for some" He handed you a bag full of sugar. Before you can thank him he cut you off,
"I hope your date goes well! Last time I saw you with someone, it was horrible! I'm not sure how crows started to surround you guys and started pecking the poor guy." Camilo couldn't help but laugh. You snapped your head towards him and he quickly avoided your gaze while started to mindlessly whistle. "See you kids around!" gut guy said.
You sighed, getting a little sad. Your luck with love isn't really the best. "Hey don't be sad, you still have a chance later right? Let's just hope nothing goes wrong yeah?" You just nodded and ate a piece of your food.
Both of you finished your food and left the restaurant. While walking, a girl younger than you approached you. "Are you (name)?" She asked and you nodded.
"My brother said he can't go tonight"
"What?"
"He said he's sorry and that he has other plans" She explained. You were devastated, not only because your date was canceled but also the fact that he had to ask his little sister to tell it to you. You mustered up a smile and patted her head. She smiled back and skipped back home.
Both you and Camilo stood there for a while before he broke the silence and asked if you were okay. You told him it was fine and that you had expected this since you didn't really know the guy, you didn't even know he had a little sister!
You hopelessly sighed as Camilo looked at you with a concerned look. "I guess I'll just go home"
Camilo shook his head and grabbed your hands, "Let's go to the park!" He practically dragged you to the current destination, not even listening to your shrieks for him to slow down.
He sat you down on one of the park benches and quickly ran to who knows where. You saw his figure come back with something on his hands. It was a huge lollipop.
He grabbed your hand again and guided your hands to cup the handle. You looked at him and he gave you a cute smile.
"Uhh, thanks" You said looking at the big lollipop you have on hand. "Anything for you cariño" He chuckled, opening your candy for you.
There was a comfortable silence for a while, both of you watching the kids play at the playground.
"You know, if you're so desperate to be in a relationship so bad" His voice made you look at him. He was still looking at the kids, "Why don't you just date me? or even be in a relationship with me i don't know"
You choked on the lollipop and looked at him in disbelief. He also looked back at you with wide eyes. The way he said it was calm and cool but deep inside he can feel his heart pounding like he just ran 10 miles. His stomach twisted from your lack of response.
"B-But of course that's all up to you! Didn't you say back then that you'll take anyone" This was bad, he was stuttering!
"You're right. I never liked any of the boys I've dated anyway.. I just.. I just dated them to distract myself from developing more intense feelings from this one guy I love"
He furrowed his eyebrows, you love someone else?
"Do you mean what you said Camilo?" You asked him, eyes full of hope. "I do but, I rather want to see you happy with the person you love than–"
"You dumbass you're the one that I love" Camilo couldn't believe what he was hearing. You love him?! He wasted no time and quickly embraced you. You laughed at his reaction and hugged him back. "Can I be your boyfriend then?"
Your heart fluttered at his question and your face couldn't help but heat up. "Yeah"
He broke the hug and both of you looked at each other funny and lovestrucked, Dolores can practically hear both of your heartbeats thump loud and fast.
