Horses hooves pounded against the earth as they wore their metal armor and their riders held spears and swords in their hands.

Maleficent shot awake and took to the sky unaware that Y/n followed after him.

The King sat on his black horse and his kingdom flags flew behind him as he raised his hand.

"Halt!" The king ordered his army to stop. He turned his horse around, his back to the thorn barrier of the Moors. "There they are, the mysterious Moors where no one dares to venture for the magical creatures that lurk within. Well, I say crush them!"

The army cheered and raised their weapons and shields in the air. Suddenly Maleficent flew down from the clouds and landed with a shake in the ground. The soldiers started to murmur as Y/n landed beside him. With a glare at her, Maleficent gave the 'we're talking about this later' look, turning his attention back to the men.

"Go no further!" Maleficent yelled at them.

"A king does not take orders from some winged elves." The King responded, the soldiers laughed at them before Y/n added.

"You are no king to us." She said as everyone went silent waiting for the King.

"Bring me his head. You boys can have her body." The King smirked as the soldier's eyes filled with lust. The guards pulled their swords as Maleficent glared at them. He glanced at Y/n to see her trying to be brave, but her eyes were filled with fear. The guards started to march toward them with the horse hooves creating a drumming noise.

"Arise and stand with me!" Maleficent yelled and a rumble started to come from the woods behind him and the ground shook, causing some guards to slow down but the others caused them to follow. Suddenly the dirt erupted from the ground and the large Forest Dragon arose from the ground with a snarl on his wooden face. Trees started to move as creatures crawled out of the ground.

"It's the dark creatures!"

"We need to get out of here!"

The soldiers screamed as the moor guards rode on their large warthogs. Y/n looked back with a smile at her friends and guardians of their home. The Forest Dragon snapped his head to the soldiers and let out a fierce roar. The King's jaw dropped as Maleficent smirked at the man.

"Charge!!" A head leader yelled. Maleficent let out a yell as he went to the sky, Y/n releasing a battle cry and followed after him. Y/n glided over the ground leading the Moors creatures towards the battle as Maleficent watched from the clouds as they clashed together. Maleficent dove down and they both rammed into the soldiers as if they were bowling bins. The creatures behind them started to hit the men away with their large wooden clubs.

Maleficent grabbed a man before throwing him to the ground and hitting others with his wings. On the other side of the battlefield, Y/n kicked a man down and grabbed a rock, hitting the back of his head with it, and suddenly an iron net was thrown over her. She screamed as the net burned her body. Maleficent gasped as he heard her scream before jumping off a man and punching another, he took off over the men and flew to see his army trying to get to her. The creatures stabbed a line of men and threw them to the ground. As they fought, the Forest Dragon slithered through the ground and popped up to grab men, taking them into the ground. Maleficent frantically searched for Y/n, when he saw her in the net, being dragged away from the battle to the King. Maleficent snarled and grabbed a knife before stabbing it into the King's side. The King fell off his horse with a gasp of pain as Maleficent landed next to Y/n, her screams of agony filled his ears. As he quickly ripped the net off of her, her once (s/c) skin was filled with burns and calluses.

"To the King!" A soldier yelled as the army charged towards the two. Maleficent quickly picked Y/n up and flapped his large wings, the wind sending the soldiers back.

"You will not have the Moors!" Maleficent yelled with a pant, "Not now, nor ever!"

The soldiers screamed as they were driven out of the Moors, a guard beat his club down and roared with victory. Maleficent glared as the King was picked up and was carried back to his kingdom. His army stood behind him, a snort coming from one of the warthogs. He gave a nod of thanks to them but a painful moan caught his attention.

"M-Maleficent." Y/n gasped out. Maleficent shot to the sky and quickly flew to their nest. He slowly set her down in the mossed filled nest and used his powers to calm down the burns.

"You'll be okay, love." Maleficent muttered, kissing her forehead as sleep slowly took over her body. He grabbed a wrap bandage in the 'Maleficent whoopsies box', that Y/n called it. He wrapped it around the burns on her arms, chest and wings. Maleficent lifted her head onto his chest and wrapped his arms around her waist. As silence washed over him, his thoughts drifted to his long lost brother, Stefan.

"When I ascended to the throne, I promised the people one day we would take..." The King trailed off as other royals stood around his bed listening to their King talk. A dark brown hair servant listened in on their conversation. "The Moors and its treasures. Each of you swore allegiance to me-" Coughing interrupted the King's speech and Stefan quickly ran over and lifted his head up with a pillow.

"Your Majesty." Stefan muttered and stepped away. His coughs slowly decreased as the royals realized their king was dying.

"Defeated in battle, is this to be my legacy? I see you waiting for me to die. It won't be long. But what then? I will choose a successor to take the throne and care for my daughter. Who among you is worthy?" The King asked as everyone stared wide-eyed at each other. Stefan's gears in his brain slowly clicking. "Kill the winged creatures. Avenge me, and upon my death you will take the crown."

As Stefan washed his face in the sink he slowly looked into the mirror with a sigh. His thoughts overlapped with possibilities.

The moon shone bright through the shadowy trees as Stefan shivered from the cold air. He tightly the pack of equipment around his chest. He stood before the place where his once youngerself came to meet his friends.

"Maleficent. Maleficent!" Stefan sighed when he received no reply, turning away from the forest when a small gush of wind made his hair swish.

"So, how is life with the humans?" Maleficent snapped with a glare. "The kind that almost killed the love of my life."

"Maleficent, I've come to warn you." Stefan said. "They mean to kill you. King Henry will stop at nothing. Please, you have to trust me."

~

The two sat next to the large lake, laughing at the old memories they once had. Maleficent telling him about Y/n and how he was going to marry her one day. He knew it.

"They spoke of many things, and the years faded away. And he forgave Stefan his folly and his ambition, and all was as it had been long ago."

"You thirsty?" Stefan suddenly asked as Maleficent's eyes started to drop.

"Mmm." Maleficent hummed taking the small vial, "I have to get back to Y/n in a little bit."

As he took a gulp of the liquid, unaware of the poison that started to take effect. His vision started to get fuzzy before falling back off the log, passing out. Stefan quickly grabbed his large body before it hit the ground and laid him on the grass.

"Maleficent?" Stefan whispered, making sure he wasn't going to wake up. He pulled out a large knife and exhaled, his breath shaky from nerves before raising it above his head. His thoughts fighting against each other.

Do it. Do it now!

But he is our brother.

The throne!

No!

Stefan quickly jumped back, throwing his knife away. He glanced over at the unconscious fairy. He looked down at his large strong wings, running a hand through the feathers. Stefan wiped a fallen tear from his cheek and scrambled to his pack to pull out an iron saw.
