0.9: Pit Stop #3: Guili Plains

Passing by the plains gave you an unsettling feeling. As breathtaking as it looks, you can't help but feel uncomfortable. The abandoned buildings where a civilization once stood now lurks of death and mystery. You can't help but usher your team's trekking progress during your time spent here.

If Aether noticed, he didn't say much. After all, he, too, wanted out of the area, mainly because he was tired of dealing with Treasure Hoarders that ambushed your group every now and then.

On your seventh night, you came across another Statue of the Seven. There was an old couple that lived directly across the Statue that offered to house your group before setting off one last time for the Harbour. All three of you were thankful, digging into your mora pouches as quickly as you could before being stopped.

The old man smiled, "We appreciate you wanting to pay us with mora, but we think it's better if you help us with chores instead?"

You graciously accept his offer, quickly getting on your feet to help with the couple's errands. The old woman had taken you and Paimon, instructing you to cook your supper with her. This left Aether in the man's care.

"Hm, you like them, don't you?"

Aether's eyes averted from your busy figure and blushed, getting caught in the act. The old man laughed and patted his back, consoling him.

"T-that's not..."

"No need to deny it, young man. I've seen that look myself. You wish to care for them, to protect them from anything and everything that could hurt them, right?"

Aether was stunned—was he that easy to read? He turned towards the man warily, the latter's face unreadable. He can't quite tell what the man is thinking, so he opened his mouth to ask, "What should I do, sir?"

The old man's eyes danced with mirth at the younger's question, "That depends on you, lad. You know your relationship best with them. It's up to you to decide what to do."
