Okay listen, you could make the excuse that you were doing chores or that you were helping your brother with something, but really you just didn't know what to wear.

The Madrigals were intimidating, and you didn't want to make a bad impression

'It's fine' you thought. You'll just sneak in through the back. No one will even know. Well, except for your mom whose there with your brother, who expected you to be there ages ago.

As fast as you could in your (whatever amazing getup you're wearing) you sprinted to the Casita. Once outside the door you slowly peaked inside.

You mentally screamed. I KNOW I did not just open the door when everyone was silently looking at Antonio waiting for him to start walking to his door

I'm literally going to just jump off that big mountain in the distance

You waited again, this time deciding to hold off on barging in until you hear sound. "We have a new gift!"  'Oh,' you thought. 'It actually worked this time. He got a gift! Aw how cute...my mom is seriously going to kill me for being late'

Slowly you open the door again. Phew. This time, everyone was upstairs partying in Antonio's new room. As you made your way up the stairs you noticed all of the...animals? Huh, who would've thought, an animal related gift.

Once inside you made it a mission to find your mom and brother. As you squeezed passed all of the guests and family members you couldn't help but shake to the beat of the drums being played. Damn Columbians knew how to party.

'Aha! There they areeee WOAH' you mentally screamed as someone who was dancing took a step back and tripped you, sending you hurdling down towards the ground.

'Oh thank heavens' you thought as you were caught by someone. Honestly you didn't care who it was as long as your face wasn't smack dab on the ground.

"Woah be careful there. You good?" 'Omg it's a Madrigal.'
"Uhh y-yeah uh sorry about that." You said, slowing making your way back to a normal standing position. "Well, thanks..." wait which Madrigal is this one? "Luisa" ohhh right...duh. "Thanks Luisa, and I'm y/n" you greeted with a smile. (HAHAHA LMAOO YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN YOUR FACE. Ofc I'm not gonna make the first cliché moment in the first chapter come on now..but don't worry he's coming shortly)

She MUST be the strong one. I mean come on LOOK at her. Oh right I'm looking for my family.

Once spotted you CAREFULLY THIS TIME made your way to them. "Where have you been!" Your mom exclaimed, trying not to sound too angry and make a scene (even though all our moms would make a scene let's be honest).

"Sorry mama! I was...uhhh" gosh you probably should've made an alibi. "I was walking the dog."

"We don't have a dog"

"Dammit"

"We'll talk about this later. For now, we're celebrating. Now go meet new friends like your older brother while I have another glass of...water."

"Yeah okay whatever you say mama." Well, I guess all you could do now was try to have fun. You never really took in the size of the room before and GOSH was it huge. And for a five year old?!? Dang.

'I guess I could actually meet the Madrigals this time instead of falling face first into them' Slowly you make your way out of the room in hopes of exploring the house and 'I'm sorry what is she doing?'

Running all through the house was...Maribel? Was that her name? 'I think so'  and she is singing. Why on earth is she singing like she's the next Moana or something?

"When you gave us a MIRACLEEEE" okay damn pop off.

While you were watching Maribel sing her song about heaven knows what you were unaware of someone else coming up behind you and-

"Hello?"

You quickly spun around on your heel, getting in a defensive stance when you felt two hands grab your wrists. Fight or flight fight or flight fight or flight

"Woah woah woah calm down." You struggled against your attackers hold. Hold on. Attacker? Are you really getting attacked? You started to calm down now. "Deep breaths in deep breaths out"

"Okay mom" you said with a hint of annoyance as you raise your head up to see who you were talking to. What is it with all these Madrigals today?

"You're quite the jumpy one aren't you?" You looked at him. Curly hair, freckles, hazel eyes. What was his name again? Honestly there's too many of them to remember everyone

"Well when someone decides to sneak up on you like that and then grab you, yes"

"...I said hello"

"And?"

Suddenly he changed...no like really. He changed into a whole new person. Wait. Me?!? He changed into ME?! "AnD?" He mockingly said. "See how dumb you sound?"

Then just as fast as he shifted into you he shifted back. He sighed, "All I wanted to do was know what you were doing away from the party."

You looked back. Maribel was gone by now. "Well, I was just going to explore the house. It's not everyday you get to explore la casa de las Madrigal" you said, kind of exaggerating the last bit.

"Unless you are a Madrigal" he said with a smug look.

"Speaking of, which one are you supposed to be?"

He looked at you for a moment before speaking.
"Camilo. And you are?"

"...y/n"

"Well, nice to meet you y/n" he extended his hand, offering to take yours and kiss the back of it

You just looked at him before smirking and heading back to the party. "Likewise"
