Your Encanto (Camilo x y/n)

Brunos Tower (no but actually this time)

Once through all of the vegetation and the outskirts of town, you stopped near the river where Mirabel had told you to meet when you had noticed she wasn't alone

'Uhh who is she with??' You thought as you cautiously made your way toward her. You quickly stopped, hiding yourself by the base of a tree when you heard them start speaking to each other.

"I say we start in Bruno's tower, maybe then-"

"Wait" You could slightly make out Mirabel's voice in the distance. "Do you hear that?"

"Uhh no" Wait that voice sounded way too familiar. "You're acting like Delores right now you know" he said

"Well if SOMEONE would stop hiding behind a tree maybe we could actually TALK about what's going on" Mirabel yelled out in your direction

Dammit

You, not so graciously, fell from out of your hiding spot

"Oh she's a bright one" you heard him scoff

Coming into view, you noticed Mirabel and...oh it's señor shapeshifter...

Why on earth is Camilo here??

Actually, let's ask that out loud this time. "Why on earth is Camilo here?"

"Am I not allowed to be here or something?" Camilo asked, giving you a look before looking at Mirabel to back him up

"He's here because he wants to help" Mirabel said, emphasizing on the word 'help' and glancing at him

There was a short silence before you spoke up again. "So, uh, why did you need me exactly?"

"You were the only one who believed in what I was saying and wanted to help. I think we can save the miracle, y/n, we just need to go into Bruno's tower, find his vision, and...well that's all I got so far." She said, her eyes looking at you hopefully as she grabbed your shoulders. "But I think we can do it." She then glanced at Camilo. "He's here to help, too. Someone with a gift is surely going to come in handy if we're gonna sneak into Bruno's tower." She took her hands off of your shoulders and sorrowfully looked straight at you. "Please, y/n. Will you help me?"

Well when you put it like thaaaat

in all honestly, though, you didn't see how this could get why worse for you. The town shuns you, your family isn't speaking to you, and standing in front of you is a girl who seems to trust you and is giving you the opportunity to fix the casita, help the Encanto, and make you loved again. What could go wrong?

"Yes." You looked at her, then at Camilo. "Of course I will help you guys." You smiled. Who knows, this could actually be a lot of fun..

~~timeskip into Bruno's tower~~

'NEVERMIND I TAKE IT ALL BACK' you mentally screamed as you stood staring at the enormous set of stairs leading up to Bruno's cave

You were wrong, this was NOT going to be fun

Getting in was pretty easy. Camilo knew the best way to get up to Bruno's door without Delores hearing. How? Oh you have no idea, you just kinda took Camilo's word for it considering he's probably had experience sneaking around the house and whatnot without getting caught or heard

Next was the not-so-fun part where you all had to fall down a waterfall of sand just to get IN Bruno's room.

But alas, the worst part of it all was staring at you—and very much winning. You just could not believe the sheer size of his room, let alone the amount of stairs he must've had to climb every day

'Damn Bruno must be jacked'

You looked over at Mirabel and Camilo to find their faces holding the same look of disbelief

"Well, up we go!" Mirabel exclaimed before starting up the stairs. You and Camilo locked eyes, both saying the same thing without actually speaking

'She's crazy'

Aaaaand up you go.
This was sure the be your workout for the next week and a half

~~30 min in~~

"The home of the family madri-"

"Mirabel!" You groaned in slight frustration and irritation as you glanced upwards at her. You were about half way up the stairs by now. She was about five steps ahead of you while Camilo was always exactly one step behind you. "If you sing that song one more time I swear I'm gonna push us off"

"Come on y/n we gotta do something that'll pass the time"

"But you've been singing that for the past half hour!" You groaned, your legs feeling weak

"Yeah Mira, I'm gonna have to agree with y/n on this one" Camilo said, sounding equally as exhausted

"Fine!" She put her hands up in surrender. "I'll stop singing the song"

"Thank y-" you started but your foot hit a soft spot in the rocks, sending the ground beneath your feet to fall towards the bottom of the tower. "Woa-AHH" your heartbeat and adrenaline quickening as you start falling to your inevitable doom

You reach out your hands in an attempt to grasp on to something, anything, that might save you

"Y/n!" Mirabel yelled, turning when she heard the rocks start crumbling

Quickly, as soon as you started falling, Camilo shape-shifted into another man who, while slim, was much taller than he was and grabbed your hand (lmao kinda like with Maribel and Bruno except he doesn't drop you)

Camilo pulls you up, both of you gasping from the rush and lack of air that you forgot you needed during that near-death experience

"Are you alright?" Camilo asked as he changed back into his normal, shorter form

Your breathing slowly leveled back out. "Y-yes I'm fine."

"This is only the second time now I've had to catch you from falling" he said, slightly smirking

You glared at him. "No wonder you were staying behind me this whole time"

He shrugged. "It's not my fault you're a klutz"

"And it's not my fault you're such an ass" you blatantly stated, dusting off your outfit

"You know, a simple 'thank you' would work too"

You gave him a deadpanned glance before signing. He did just save your life after all. "Thank you, Camilo." you stated genuinely

Glancing up, you made eye contact with him, dragging it out a bit too much, neither of you knowing what to say next

"Oh my gosh are you two okay?" Mirabel asked, a concerned look plastered on her face as she inspected you for any cuts or bruises. 'She must get that from her mom' you thought

"Come on," you say, "at this rate we'll never make it up Bruno's tower by sunrise"

And with that, you guys start heading back up. CAREFULLY this time
