As the days went by, promposals at Summerville High became more frequent, each one outdoing the last.
Emma was not excited about prom anymore because of what was going on at home. She was not talking to her father after his DUI despite his countless apologies.
She did not understand why he would do something that could've gotten him or other people killed. Emma did not want to think Martin had a drinking problem but, the idea danced around in her head. She did not forget that time she found his unwashed coffee mug smelling of liquor.

"So, will you talk to Ethan today?" Peter asked Emma as they left Math and walked to English class.

"I'm not even sure what to say." Emma responded honestly. She was excited for Peter but she did not want to have a possible awkward conversation with Ethan.

"Just find out if he is into guys or not. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a chance to ask him to prom." Peter said.
Emma chuckled. "Okay."

Some of the students that were in front of Emma and Peter started to whisper and took their phones out.

"Woah. What is this?" Peter asked.
There was a trail of roses that led to English class. There stood a man at the beginning of the trail with a bouquet of roses.
"Ms Emma De Luca?" He called out.

Emma nodded, anxious about what was going on.

"These are for you." The man said handing her the flowers. "The rest waits for you inside." He continued pointing towards the English class.

Emma was shocked but excited. This was her moment. Marcus had finally figured out his promposal and she loved it.
She walked to the class as she smelled the roses, her eyes went wide when she reached the doorway and saw Emmett dressed in a suit with his hair gelled backwards.
He was holding a tablet.

"Oh my gosh." She cooed as she entered the classroom.

Emmett tapped the screen of the tablet and a gasp left Emma's mouth as Jay's face appeared on the screen.

"Emma, you and I have been best friends for the longest time. You have been by my side through it all so I'm asking you to be by my side for one last time. Will you go to prom with me?" Video Jay asked.

Emma tried not to freak out and panic. She did not think Jay was going to ask her, he had no reason to.

"So? Will you?" Jay's voice said from behind her. She turned to face him. His hair was also gelled back and he wore a suit.

"Say yes, Em." Emmett requested.

Emma chuckled, more out of nervousness than amusement. She felt backed into a corner.
"Of course I will." She found herself saying. The students watching clapped and cheered.

Jay hugged Emma and her eyes locked with Peter whose brows were raised. All she did was shrug.

"Oh my Gosh!" A girl squealed. "Ethan Dalton and Josslyn Park are dating! She just accepted his promposal and they kissed."

"Wait what?" Emma asked as she looked at Jay after breaking the hug. "Josslyn and Ethan?"

Jay nodded with a grin.

Emma looked at Peter again who shook his head and walked out of the class.

Lunch rolled by and Emma did everything she could to avoid Marcus, so she decided to hide in the school library. She was still recovering from Jay's promposal. It turned out Aunt Martina helped him get Emmett out of school for the whole thing. Jay wanted to include Emmett because he was an important part of Emma's life. The gesture was sweet but she did not think her boyfriend would think that.
