"Guys! Guys!" A tall blonde girl shouted running towards us.

"What? What?" A brunette asked from beside me.

"I found I creepy haunted house!" The blonde shouted.

"Please don't say you want to go inside it, Kaila!" The brunette groaned. Kaila rolled her eyes.

"I want to explore it, Ashley." Kaila said proudly. This time Ashley rolled her eyes.

"What are guys talking about?" A dirty blonde asks from behind me, making me jump. "Chill Jason, it's just me."

"Well 'me', you can't just come from behind someone suddenly and expect them to be calm still." I said dusting off my blue shirt.

"Hey Ness!" Kaila exclaimed.

"Hey." Venessa whispers, realizing that Ashley has a headache.

"Oh, sorry!" Kaila whisper yells, realizing it too.

"It's okay." Ashley says softly.

"So, who's ready to see that haunted house?" I asked. everyone raised their hand.

"Wait." Kaila protested.

"But this whole idea was yours." Ashley sighed.

"I want to invite Hannah." Ashley looked at Venessa, who then looked at me. We all had the same face on. Kaila looked up from her phone.

"What?" Kaila looked back down at her phone after she heard ding. "She'll meet us at the house."

"What are we waited for then?" I asked. "Let's go."

Ashley ran up ahead before shouting, "Race you guys!"

"Hey! No fair!" Kaila darted after her. Venessa sprinted like she was running for her life. I ran and caught up with Kaila. Soon I had passed her. I kept up with Ash for a while, but she passed me soon enough. We were just in time to watch Venessa slam into the door because she couldn't stop in time. Right as Ashley was about to touch the door, a black hand got there first.

"Missed me?" It was Hannah. "Where's Kaila?"

"Back there." Venessa pointed to Kaila, who was back behind us.

"Hi *Pant* Hannah." Kaila panted when she caught up to us.

"Hi." Hannah high fived Kaila which somehow gave her all her strength back.

"You ready to do this thing?" Ashley put her hand out. Everyone put their hand in.

"I'm in!"

"I'm not chicken!"

"Let's do this thing!"

"Okay! I guess."

"Good. Now let's explore this haunted house." Hannah opened the door and let us in.

"Ooh. This placed gives me the chills." I shivered.

"I think it's cool!" Kaila shouted. An echo followed. Ashley covered her ears.

"Anyone bring a flash? It's kind of dark in here." Hannah asked.

"I did." Venessa reached into her backpack and pulled out a flashlight.

"You have everything in there don't you?" I turned to Venessa

"Pretty much."

"Did you bring food? I'm hungry."

"A little, peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich?"

"You have that?" Ashley asked.

"Yeah." Venessa dug in her backpack and pulled out a sandwich in a plastic bag. "What?"

"You also have throwing knives in there I presume." Kaila said taking the sandwich from her.

"Just in case." We all laughed. "What's so funny?"

"Hey, what's that?" Ashley bent down and picked up a piece of paper. Hannah looked over her shoulder and read the note aloud: "I don't have muhc time I mihgt make a few mitsakes becuase Im in a rush but I hope I give you enuogh context for you to figure htem out Anyway what i wanted to say was loook out for the gohst he hides the chets so don't open it!!! The chest has a flower engraved on it don't touch fower!!! the ghost will take..."

"The ghost will take what?" I asked.

"It doesn't say." Ashley replied.

"That note is definitely fake." Kaila complained.

"But what if it isn't? We could be in really big trouble." Ashley protested. I didn't know which side to take.

"C'mon, let's go." Kaila interrupted my thoughts. "That 'ghost' stuff is fake, so we don't have to be scared.

"Better safe than sorry Kaila." Ashley turned towards the door. When she touched the handle, Kaila said; "Your just too chicken, on the other hand, I am not scared. As a matter of fact, I will find that chest and open it to prove I am not scared of that stupid shit."

"Oh really? Fine then! I'll show you who's chicken!" Ashley exclaimed. They both looked at me.

'Oh great' I thought.
