The next day when Matthew Briggs opened the door to sedate his daughter, there was no girl in sight.
And the window was open.

Forest could hear his blood curdling scream from all the way down the road, which only made her run faster.

She wasn't sure whether she'd regret her decision later, but it was too late to change it now.

Forest had attempted to run away before, all failed of course.

Though her father, Matthew, always knew she would end up coming back to him...and he was right.

But not this time.

This was the first time Forest had made it all the way to the city. She gasped, losing her breath for a second as she looked up.

Now she knew why they called it the city of progress.

Piltover was bright and elegant, unique creations lying everywhere she looked.

In a dazed and excited state, Forest ran straight into a hard object, sending herself sprawling onto the ground.

It was a dark haired man with tan skin and bright eyes. Forest could see his muscles through his shirt.

A male enforcer stood beside him and glared down at the girl.
"Watch where your going! This is Jayce Talis!"

"Oh- thats okay..I mean no! That's not what I-"
Forest soon realized that socialization wasn't her strongest attribute.

"No, no need to apologize." Jayce shook his head, lending a hand in Forest's direction. She took it with wide eyes, staring at him in awe.

Forest had heard of Jayce Talis many times. He invented Hextech, which molded Piltover into the city of progress. He was a scientist, much like her father, though he didn't experiment on and murder children.

He was extremely famous, and as some would say, the face of Piltover.

Before Forest could open her mouth and thank him, a sound all too familiar came from behind.

The girl whipped around to see about a dozen of her fathers guards heading straight for her.

The enforcers left the Briggs guards to themselves, not trying to stop them or even ask what all the ruckus was about.

It was a reoccurring pattern with the Briggs household. It was almost as if it was separate from Piltover as a whole, or maybe the city was just afraid of what Matthew Briggs had cooked up inside.

Forest turned and ran, shoving past Jayce and almost knocking him to the ground.

As much as she'd loved admiring the city of Piltover for the short time she had, Forest knew she wouldn't be able to run for long.

People scoffed at her and yelled curses as she sprinted by, knocking everything out of her way.

Unfortunately for Forest, she had no idea where anything was located relative to where she was, or in general. The guards were catching up, and the girl needed to do more than just run.
Using too much of her gift could damage her physically and make it unable for her to get away if she needed to.
