Maya smiled as she walked into Abigail Adams High School with her two friends, Riley and Farkle, who were way past in love and lost. She saw as a boy walked into the school confused on who he could be when she looks at her friends.
"I'll see you guys in a sec," Maya said leaving her friends behind.
"You lost?" Maya asked as the boy looked at her smiling.
"Kinda. Big cities and stuff aren't really my thing. Lucas Friar. Born and raised in Austin, Texas," Lucas said.
"Maya Hart. Born and raised in New York. Welcome, Lucas. Come on. I'll show you around. New York isn't that intimidating or different from places like Austin," Maya said.
"If you grew up on a ranch? Yeah I don't believe ya," Lucas said as Maya smiled.
"So basically a Huckleberry at its best? There's no difference. Riley! This is Lucas Friar. Just moved from Texas. This is Riley Matthews and Farkle Minkus. Riley's father is our history teacher," Maya said.
"Doesn't it get uncomfortable with your father being a teacher?" Lucas asked as Riley shook her head.
Although Lucas was talking to Riley his full attention was on Maya. The girl with the blonde hair and blue eyes was for him interesting and not only because of the nickname she had called him. She had many features and even personality which could get along with anyone easily.
"Okay then. Let's go," Maya said.
Yay!
