Jaune is seen wearing a hoodie, jeans, and sneakers. Carrying groceries, he is walking back to his apartment.
As he is walking, a portal appears underneath his feet, and he falls through.
[At A Warehouse]
He falls to the ground. Soon, he stands on his feet. He looks around, but only sees darkness.
Suddenly, the lights turn on, and Jaune is met by the sight of a woman. She is tall and has beautiful, long red hair. She has dazzling blue eyes, and reddish-black horns, one on each side of her head. She wears a white blouse that hangs on to her curvaceous figure. She sports a pair of black jeans and black ankle boots.
She walks up to Jaune, but he could not sense any negative emotions from her. Soon, she gives him a hug.
"Who are you?" Jaune asked.
The woman broke the hug and looked at Jaune, hurt by his question.
"That hurts. Just hurts. You don't remember your Onee-sama?" The woman asked.
"Onee-sama?" Jaune asked in confusion.
Soon, Jaune widened his eyes in realization. He remembered there was only one person who he called that.
"Eve," Jaune said in realization.
Eve smiled.
"It's good to see you again, Jaune," Eve said.
Jaune had known Eve from his childhood. She was like another big sister to him. Truth be told, he trusts his secrets more with her than his biological sisters.
Eve raised one eyebrow up.
"Or should I call you, Dr. Alexander J. Mercer?"
Jaune was surprised that Eve said this. However, he tried to play dumb.
"Who's that?" Jaune asked.
Eve folded her arms.
"You can't lie to me. I found out the truth during your heists," Eve said.
Jaune felt even more surprised.
"Wait. You've been spying on me?" Jaune asked.
"Yes. Truth be told, I didn't know it was you until I saw the evidence," Eve said.
"Evidence, huh? So. I guess being a huntress you'll tell the huntsmen and huntresses know then," Jaune said.
Eve looked more at Jaune.
"Jaune. I'm not a huntress anymore," Eve said.
"Haven't been for a long time."
"What? Why?" Jaune asked.
"Things happen. Things change," Eve said.
"Kind of like what's happened to you."
Jaune looked right at Eve.
"Heh. You're right. I'm no longer aiming to be a huntsman," Jaune said.
"Truth be told, I'm what huntsmen and huntresses fear."
Jaune tightens his fists.
"So, what do you want?" Jaune asked with some anger in his voice.
Eve noticed the anger.
"At first, I wanted to know who the notorious Dr. Alexander J. Mercer is," Eve said.
She sighed.
"Now. I want to know. What happened to you?"
Jaune looked to the ground.
"What do you know you so far?" Jaune asked.
