Chapter 5: "Hakuna Matata"

The next day as it very bright sunny day in the desert, where Leonardo is passed out under the hot sun as there were not a single cloud in the sky. Several vultures swoop overhead, cawing. 

They gather around him and begin to feast. Skyla charges at the vultures as she was the bowling ball, with Mushroom riding on her best friend. "Yah!" They yelled. Mushroom and Skyla shoo the vultures away. "Get out! Get out! Get out of here!" They said. Skyla stood up as Mushroom was standing next to him and they were in their fighting stance. Skyla extend her wings to scare the vultures away while Mushroom clenched her fists and stood tall. "I love this!" Skyla said. 

"Whoo!" Mushroom said. "Bowling for buzzards." Skyla said. "Hee, hee, hee." Mushroom said as she dusts herself off. Skyla walked away from Mushroom. "Gets 'em every time." She said as she laughs.

"Uh-oh." Skyla said who is standing next to the turtle in blue. Mushroom glances back at the mutated angelic-dragon. "Hey, Mushroom, you better come look. I think it's still alive." She said. 

"Ewww." She said as she with disgusted look. Mushroom approaches, dusting her hands. "All righty, what have we got here?" Mushroom asked. She sniffs Leonardo as she lifts the turtle in blue's hand off his face as she grunts.

She darts away in terror. "Jeez, it's a turtle!" Mushroom yelled. She jumps on top of Skyla's head as she put her hands on her ears trying to steer her away as they're reins. "Run, Skyla! Move it!" She said. Skyla was getting a little annoyed as she jerked her head back a bit. "Hey, Mushroom, it's just a little turtle." She said as she ducks down to Leonardo's level. Her shadow was sort of covering a part on Leonardo. "Look at him. He's so cute and all alone." He said. Skyla looks over one shoulder at Mushroom. "Can we keep him?" She asked. Mushroom stood on her shoulder as she pulled on her ear. "Skyla, are you nuts?" She asked as she screamed into her ear.

"You're talking about a turtle. And turtles are slow." Mushroom said. Skyla bows his head, causing Mushroom to fall onto the ground on her back. "But he's so little." She said. "He's gonna get bigger." She said as she waving her finger in the air from the ground. "Maybe he'll be on our side." She said. "Ha!" She said. Mushroom stands up. "That's the stupidest thing I ever heard." She said. She dusts herself off. "Maybe he'll be..." She said. 

Mushroom pulls up short and holds up a finger as she has a sudden realization. "Hey, I've got it. What if he's on our side?" She said. Mushroom gestures dramatically as she puts a pensive finger to her chin. "You know, having a turtle around." She said. She walks around Skyla as she used her tail as a set of stairs. 

"Might not be such a bad idea." She said as she sat on the top of his shell. Skyla struts around to Leonardo's side. 

"So, we're keeping him?" She asked. "Pfft! Of course. Who's the brains of this outfit?" Mushroom said as she did a small part of raspberry. Skyla lifts Leonardo onto her back. "Uhh...?" She asked. 

"My point exactly." She said. Mushroom wipes her forehead. "Geez, I'm fried. Let's get out of here and find some shade." She said. Skyla waddles off, with Mushroom on top of her head and Leonardo on her back.

Later to the edge of the desert. Leonardo lies beside a jungle pool, with Mushroom and Skyla nearby in a little bit of shade. Half of Leonardo's lower body in the water so he can stay hydrated while his upper body was on the ground. The mutated weasel splashes water into Leonardo's face. Leonardo wakes up groggily as he groans. "You okay, kid?" Mushroom asked. "I guess so." Leonardo said. "You nearly died." Skyla said. Mushroom gestures to herself. "I saved you." She said. Skyla turns to Mushroom angrily as she snarls. "Well, uh, Skyla helped." She said. The white, colorful winged dragon beams with a smile on her face. "A little." She said.
