Hawk's POV:
My eyes widened.
"Touya?!" There was no way, right? I mean, he's dead, so why is he here? Maybe this is some kind of a joke. I quickly look around us to see if there's anyone watching.
"Chill, this isn't a prank or whatever. Not this time," I focused back on the kid- or Touya I should say.
"You haven't changed a bit, Keigo." Keigo I haven't heard that name for years. This was still far too confusing for me to apprehend. I was never trained to deal with this kind of stuff.
"Ugh," he rolled his eyes at me, "let go of me already!!" I removed my hand from his shoulders and set him down. I just noticed that he was standing on his tippy toes, I guess I forgot how short he was before. I quietly chuckled.
"What are you laughing at?" I looked at him, standing with his arms crossed, with a serious look on his face. I couldn't help myself. I burst out laughing.
He was clearly taken by surprise, as I was struggling to keep myself from falling.
"Damn, he really did go psychotic," he whispered, clearly loud enough for me to hear. After a couple of minutes I calmed myself.
"So, you're... Touya?" I said, raising my eyebrow.
"I thought we already established this. Yes, I am, you moron."
"Sorry, sorry," I said putting my hands up, "nobody told me ahead of time that I'd be seeing and speaking with the dead today-" shit. I forgot, he doesn't know that yet, does he? Or wait- was he really alive this whole time? If he was, where the hell was he, because I sure as hell don't know.
"So I'll really die, huh," he said, his voice had obviously gotten softer. I guess he found out, but from who? All these questions, and few answers, typical. But that doesn't matter right now. I was about to try and apologize- explain- do something at least, but my phone started to ring. I took it out of my pocket, and stared at the caller ID.
"Well, are you gonna answer it or not?" he asked, I looked up, and faced him, seeing his skeptical face. I turned my attention back to the phone. Shoto Todoroki, it said. I sighed, and proceeded to answer it.
"Hey, what's up? Aren't you supposed to be at school or something?"
"Hawks, it's 5, and it's almost the weekend," I could hear the annoyance in his phone, but at least he's showing some kind of emotion. The thing is, there was something else in his voice, which almost sounded like concern. Does he already know? I turned and looked at Touya, who just stared me down. Yeesh, don't miss that for sure.
"Yeah, should've realized it. What can I do for you-"
"Is Touya with you?" I guess I was right, he did know. I hate being right sometimes.... (Lie)
"Hey, are you okay, you know Touya is long gone-"
"He is with you isn't he," I sighed, there was nothing that could be hidden from these people.
"I assume it isn't a prank then," I say, more relieved than I should be honestly.
"Hawks, please get him back here. He ran away, and was able to get past all the heroes. He's the only person who really trusts you." I could feel Touya's eyes staring me down. I guess he's already figured it out. So why doesn't he run?
"Alright, and if I do manage to do that, what are you going to do with him?" I say, more sternly than I mean to. But shit, this is a serious situation.
"This is pro hero Eraserhead speaking. I ran by this with all the staff, and they agreed to let him stay in the 1A dorm rooms for the time being. We can figure out how this all happened along the way," Wow, just my luck. He's not bad, but he works as an underground hero, meaning he's trained with the Hero Commission somehow. That would make him all the more suspicious of me.
"Ah, hello Eraserhead, I didn't realize Shoto wasn't alone-"
"Are you going to bring him in, or do I have to come after you two?" This time, I managed to look at Touya. He was a really hard person to read, but when you look into his eyes, it's simple to figure out what he's thinking. At least once you get to know him.
I turn away from Touya and silently sigh to myself.
"We'll be there soon," I say, then quickly hang up before letting him say anything further. I put my phone back into my pocket, and put on my headset.
"Alright Touya, sorry for doing this, but-" He's not here. He ran. That little shithead.
Touya's POV:
I run through the alleyways, turning in random directions, hoping that I had just enough time to get away from him. I need to find a place to stay, away from all these heroes, away from Shoto, away from Hawks. Things have changed so drastically, I could barely recognize where I am.
I kept running, until I turned a corner, right onto a busy street. It's already so dark out, I bet the heroes would have some trouble finding me. It's perfect for me though, I have just enough time to get out of here, and change my appearance. I need to get a little further from here, and I'll be alright. After all, my scars on my arms aren't as visible at this time, but even if they were, my sleeves are covering them up.
"Ugh, I don't get what the big deal is, we could just look for him in the morning," I look to my right, and sure enough, I see all the heroes I've previously encountered, all together. Except for the ones in UA though. I quickly slide back into the shadows so they can't see me, but still close enough for me to see and hear them.
"You don't understand, it's really important Mt. Lady. If we don't find him, then-"
"Geez, you really seem on edge Hawks. You usually don't care about this stuff, what's with the change of heart?"
"I hate to agree, but you sure seem tense. There's something you're obviously hiding, so what is it?" The blond-haired woman with bat wings on her head asked. I still can't wrap the idea of Keigo involving himself with heroes, and being one himself. It's so unlike him. I guess with time, he changed. Just like everyone else. I grit my teeth.
"He's not someone we should treat lightly. He may look like an average 14 year old kid, but he's not,"
"But how do you know that? You've just seen the picture, you don't even know his name," The tree said. Half of me knows that I should get out of here, since they're all distracted. It would be a perfect opportunity. But, the other half wants to stay, and so far, it's winning.
I can see the panic in Keigo's golden eyes. He's really easy to read, and currently, he's stressed. They all say I'm dead now, but they treat it like it's some big deal. There's so much I don't understand, and so much I need to.
"Look, I can't tell you, we're being watched. Even if we weren't, I wouldn't be able to tell you anyway, look, I just need you to trust me on this-"
"Hawks, no offense, but we don't know you that well. You're known to be fast, sure, but also impulsive and immature," The guy with the grey spikey hair said, "Sorry, but we don't know what we're getting into, and you're not exactly telling us what's going on-" My eyes widen as I see everything unfold in my eyes.
Keigo picks up the grey spiky-haired guy by the collar and presses him against the building. Everyone else seemed shocked as well. I never took Keigo for being the violent type, but when he was stressed or angry enough, he changes completely.
