[unknown P.O.V.]:
As I walk down the hallway, I see this girl sitting on the floor with her hands covering her face. I hear her sobbing and somehow knowing that she has just lost someone important to her. I don't know why I was compelled to do this, but I walked up to her and sat down next to her. I wrapped my arms around her and tried to help in any way I could.
"Hi... I-I-I'm Jaron. What's your name?"
She looks up and I see this beautiful girl. Her eyes were a piercing blue and her nose was like a pixie's. Her hair was a soft brown and was cut short. She had a narrow face and cute little dimples.
"I'm Annie Thomas."
"Would you like to get some coffee?"
"Yea... That'd be great."
I helped this poor girl up and we walked down the hallway together. I don't think she could walk quite right, at the moment. She seemed too upset. I let her lean on me and I wrapped my arm around her waist.
"What made you want to talk to me?"
"You seemed upset. I only wanted to help. I thought that we could talk over some coffee."
I saw her smile and I instantly fell head over heals for her. I had only just met her and I already have overwhelming feelings for her.
"Jaron?"
"Yes, love?"
"Why were you at the hospital? Were you here to visit someone? Because you don't have to do this if you are wanting to see someone."
"Not at all. A pal of mine left his keys at my house and I came to give them to him. He's visiting his father and after that, he was going to work."
"Well you sure are a great friend."
As we walked, our hands would rub against each other and I would get a tingling sensation that just felt amazing. I looked down for a minute and she grabbed my hand.
"Hi! welcome to Starbucks. What can I get for you guys?"
She observed the menu and finally saw what she wanted.
"I'd like a white chocolate mocha, please."
"And I'd like caramel mocha, thank you."
She got out her billfold but I was too quick. She looked at me and hit me in the stomach.
"I was going to pay for that."
"Well you were too slow, darling."
We got our drinks and then sat down at a nearby table. She wrapped her hands around the hot cup of coffee and sort of stared at it for awhile. We sat in silence for a few moments.
"My mother."
"What, darling"
"It was my mother. She... uhm... she died today."
"Oh. I am so sorry. If you don't mind by me asking, but how?"
Her eyes filled with tears and she took a sip of her coffee.
"My step dad. uh-he practically beat her- to death. The police arrested him."
I reached across the table and placed my hand on her's. She seemed calmed by the touch of my skin.
"My father died when I was seven and now my mother is gone too. I have no place to stay, and now I have to be out in an orphanage."
"How old are you?"
"Seventeen. I'll be eighteen in April. I only have two months left."
"I'm nineteen and I've got a house. Well it's more like an apartment, but it's more than you have. You can stay with me if you'd like."
Her face lit up and she had a smile on her face.
"Can I really stay with you?"
"Yes. I have a roommate, but he's almost never there. You can sleep in my room and I can bunk in the living room."
"No need to go that far. You can have your room. I'll sleep on the couch."
"Please, I insist. Sleep on the bed. It's really comfortable."
She looked at me and took another sip.
"Fine, I will sleep on the bed. Could we go back to my old house and get some of my belongings?"
"Sure. I just need an address and we can go."

[Annie's P.O.V.]:
We drove back to my house and I walked in. The hallway where my mother was beat had been taped off by the police. I was walking in on a crime scene investigation.
I walked to my room and got a bag. I filled it with my clothes and some shoes. I got a large purse and filled it with some of my mother's objects.
I just met Jaron, but I feel like I've known him for years. We sat at Starbucks and talked for at least two hours. He seems to be an amazing guy. He's got these big, beautiful brown eyes and a cute nose. His smile is comforting and his laugh is welcoming.
I walked out of the house and back to the car, where Jaron had been waiting for me. He started the car and we left for his apartment. We were silent for most of the drive, but I decided to talk.
"Will you sleep with me tonight?"
"W-what?"
"W-will you sleep with me tonight? I think I need someone with me and I don't know your roommate, so you are my only option."
He smiled at me and nodded his head.
"Of course I'll sleep with you, darling."

[Jaron's P.O.V.]:
We go back to my place and I showed her to my room. I took out some of my clothes in the dresser and let her have a few drawers. She unpacked her bag and placed everything where it was supposed to go.
I noticed the large purse that she was carrying. She didn't take anything out of it.
"Would you like to unpack those items too?"
"O-oh I forgot about these."
She took out pictures and some perfume and a pair of glasses.
"Are those your glasses?"
"No. My mother's. I wanted to bring some of her stuff with me."
I nodded my head and mad some room for her.
"I apologize in advance for Cameron. He's my roommate. His girlfriend just broke up with him and he's not taking it too well. He's been drinking for the past couple days. He'll leave around 10:30a.m. And won't come back to 1:45a.m."
"Awe the poor guy."
"Yea I've been helping him deal with everything."
I turned around for a moment and then looked back at her and realized she was getting undressed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I should've told you I was getting undressed. My bad."
"No you're fine!"
It had gotten late and she was putting her pajamas on. That didn't seem like such a bad idea. I decided to do the same.
We laid in bed for awhile, but neither of us could sleep, so I turned in the tv.
"Thank you."
"For what, love?"
She wrapped her arms around my chest and closed her eyes.
"For this..."
I wrapped my arms around that beautiful girl and that where she fell asleep.

"Lydia, I-I-I love you." I woke up and heard those slurred words come out of Cameron's mouth.
"...But Lydia, I love you so much. You don't deserve him! Wait. I didn't mean that. He doesn't deserve you!"
I let go of Annie and walk to the front room, where Cameron is leaning against the couch.
"Give me the phone."
"No, I love her!"
"I know you do, but you gotta give me the phone."
This usually goes on for about ten minutes, but he eventually gives the phone to me.
"Hi Lydia, sorry again. Get some sleep and I will talk to you tomorrow... Okay goodnight."
Cameron fell onto the couch and I had to pick him up.
"Come on, buddy. You gotta go to your room."
I finally got him to his bed and I placed a trash can next to it. After that, I went back to my own bed and laid back down with Annie.
"Is he okay?"
"Yea, he will be fine."
"Goodnight, Jaron."
"Goodnight, Annie."

I woke up and I noticed that I was alone. I got up to search for her, but I couldn't find her. The last place I looked was Cameron's room, and she was there. She brought him some water and some medicine to get over his hangover. They seemed to have been talking for a while.
"Hey Cam, how you feeling?"
"Like hell. Annie introduced herself to me and we've been talking for about ten minutes."
"Would either if you like something to eat? I know I don't really live here, but I'd love to make some breakfast."
"Yea I could go for some pancakes... I-if you don't mind."
"Oh not at all! What about you Jaron?"
"Uh I'll have some too."
"Ok great! Could you just show me where everything is?"
I have her a look that lured her to me. We walked into the kitchen and I showed her where everything is.
"Would you like anything in your pancakes or would you like them plain?"
"We have some blueberries in the fridge. I love blueberry pancakes."
"Me too!"
We talked while she made breakfast. We laughed and just enjoyed each others company. She talked about her sister and how close they were. She really seems to miss her.
"Breakfast is ready!"
Cam got out of bed and walked slowly down the hallway. He stopped and then ran back.
"He probably can't hold a meal right now."
She laughed and agreed. Her smile and laugh is like a drug to me. She's so gorgeous and I couldn't figure out some things about her.
"So what school do you go to?"
"Oh, uh-I dropped out of school last year. I started taking online classes... But I was always too depressed to do any of my assignments. I finally just gave up and quit."
"Oh. Why did you drop out?"
She looked down and she tried to hide her tears, but I could tell that I said something to upset her.
"I'm sorry. you don't have to answer that if you don't want to."
"After Natalia died... P-people started calling me killer, murderer, psycho, crazy, and pathetic. My anxiety slowly got worse and I would have some panic attacks in class. I would start crying and shaking and I couldn't do anything to stop it. I couldn't handle it... So I dropped out."
All I could do was stare at the plate of food in front of me. I didn't know how to reply to that. She had been so alone...

But
Not
Anymore.
