Chapter 36

Last Chapter

I was used to being here at Neverland. It soon was my new home. I hadn't been worrying over Johnny. Maybe he had crossed over on his own accord. I really hoped for that. I wish he understood that I never wanted him to die.

I get a phone call from my mom but I was tired from staying up late. I let it go to voicemail. I would call her back later. MJ had soothing classical music playing on our speakers.  I felt so relaxed.

I grab the blanket off the couch and snuggled into it. I was so happy these days. It put me on edge because I worried my happiness would be ripped away from me at anytime.

It had before after all.

Soon I feel my eyes close and I drift away to sleep.

"Baby, hey wake up" MJ says as he puts his hands on my shoulders. Gently rubbing them and waking me up.

"Sorry, I fell asleep it was so nice" I say with a happy yawn.

"You deserve it. Did you dream of me?" he teases as he kisses my neck.

"No, just rested. I feel so happy these days" I sigh.

"Me to baby, me to"

He sits beside me on the couch to cuddle with me. Holding me close.

I think he had something on his mind. But what that was he had yet to tell me. I could tell with him. Maybe I could coax it out of him.

"Would you.....would you ever want to get married?" I hear him softly ask.

My heart leaps happily yes in my throat. Tears of joy surface in my eyes. I lean over to look up at him. He was serious!!

"I don't have a ring yet. I have thought about this alot these days with you being home. This is our home. I have always wanted marriage and kids. I lost my life once. And I want more kids. I want to live" he explained to me.

"Oh Michael I would love to get married sweetheart. I want those things to more than anything in this world! With you though" I say with a big goofy smile.

He he grins then leans in to kiss me.

"I am so in love with you! Did we just....we did! We are engaged!" he joyfully chuckles.

I nod and laugh then we kiss.

"We will go ring shopping soon!" he promised me.

"I have to tell my friends, my family! Mom just called can I tell her?" I beg him.

"Go right ahead love" he tells me.

I grab my phone. I try calling my mom back. No answer. I keep trying but no answer so I play the voice message that she left me.

"Please help! We need you home. Right away! Stay back! Let her go!" I hear mom screaming.

I hear my sister scream.

"Mom!"

Then that was it.

"I gotta go!" I say to MJ as I get up off the couch.

"What's wrong honey?" he worries.

"Johnny"
