It wasn't anything special at first.
But as one conversation turned into another,
one feeling grew into another. Two hearts became one, then two again.

-A few hours later-
AMBROSE
By the time my meeting with Mr. Rune was finished, I felt like dying. The sun begun to set at least 40 minutes ago and the usual buzz of rowdy students had been reduced to stifling silence. But I felt a piercing pain.Ever since I had woke up, I had a headache that just kept getting progressively worse. This had been happening to me often recently, since I hadn't been sleeping well. My dreams were flooded with thoughts of someone... and it felt so suffocating that I couldn't sleep at home without thinking of her. So I just didn't sleep.
By now it had gotten so bad that I wasn't even in the condition to drive myself home. I wasn't close enough with Mr. Rune to tell him this though, because he would probably ask for more details that I didn't want to give. So I just sat through it all waiting for us to be finished. Relief mixed with pain washed over me as I watched Mr. Rune leave once we were done.
The pain seared through my body as I stood up to leave the library. But I kept walking in a vain attempt to leave the room. My head was spinning so fast that I couldn't even make it to the door.
So, I decided to just take a rest where I was standing, as the library was completely empty. For such a high end school, the students sure are studious! But in a moment like this, I guess I should be grateful.
I just needed a moment of sleep anyways and this was probably the only place I could guarantee there would be no distractions.
The cool wooden shelves pressed against my back as I slid down against them. I felt an uncomfortable bulge in my back pocket and reached back to grab whatever it was. It was that book. I had forgotten where it was but I guess today was just my lucky day.
I pulled it out and ran my fingers along the small, black leather cover, with them eventually resting on the bright green jade in the middle. A bittersweet smile graced my face as I attempted to tuck it away but the moment didn't last for long. Another wave of pain flushed over me and before I could collect myself, everything went black.
AMIRAE
I let out a huge sigh of relief as I closed Ms. Steel's classroom door behind me. I was finally finished. The cleaning that she had forced me to do ALONE almost took me four hours and by the time I was actually leaving, it was 6:30pm. I have no doubt in my mind that she's still going to have something to complain about tomorrow too but I'm just too exhausted to give a fuck. Now, one might be wondering why I haven't reported her by now.
One, the shitty administration. I'm sure that they would make me go to counciling or something, but no way in hell would they remove a long standing teacher like her. Two, she's known my partners for longer than I've been alive. She was in the year below them in high school yet she looks really beat for her age. More than anything, in the case that I make a report and she figures out, i'm sure that she would find a way to make my life even more of a hell on earth even outside of her classroom. Thats no bueno.
An almost euphoric feeling swept over me as I made my way down to the car lot. Like the feeling of closing your laptop after spending the last 7 hours writing an essay: perfect.
As I approached the main exit, the orange sky shot a glowing light through the glass doors. The reflecting lights felt warm on my face and my hands rested in the cool metal handle of the door
