"She doesn't want to run away. She just wants to ask them questions." Christian had said in a single monotone.

After all the time they had given him, they never thought he was that naïve. Christian Malice was good at lying, Grace Seamless was exceptionally good at lying as well but they could do it even better. They were about to tell him to do a better job in earning her confidence but a genius moment had hit them, no one was to ever find out and no one ever would but it would definitely work.

With The Three of them agreeing in that single moment, they conversed and told Christian of what he was to do next. "I-I can't do that. It'll ruin her."

They all scoffed, one might have even snickered but the phone line was weak between them so Christian could tell if he heard right or wrong. They ordered him again and told him to listen. Christian frowned and looked back at Grace's sleeping face, after what they had discussed last night went down in vain. And after this is over, Grace will never look at him the same. She might even go rouge if she hangs onto this.

But there was nothing Christian could do, with everything they have on him; they could take it away just like that. He closed his eyes in frustration of himself and gave in, "What do you want me to do?"

They all smile, not because they always got their way but because after this was over, Grace would finally let go out her delusional desire for a family and finally listen to them. Every head bows down to the conference phone and repeats the plan once again to Christian.

"And what'll happen to me? What happens if it doesn't work out?" his question had them thinking, he was not right to question them but he was right in asking them what if it didn't work out. Christian wasn't going to be the problem if Grace had succeeded in finding her family...who knows what'll happen. There were bigger problems than that.

They told him not to worry about the unknown and to rest his focus on Graces journey. Yes, they couldn't hold her from finding her family any further so it was time to let her do as she pleased. She did deserve it, for all the deeds she had done for them without any questions. The Three were anything but lenient, maybe it was time for a change, who knows...but they were sure about one thing, the plan had to pull through no matter what.

Not trusting a single word, Christian asks, "So I just tell her she can and you'll let her go?"

They groaned in his absurdity. They all scream out their answer, knowing the he would eventually figure out what the initial plan was. This was going to be hard. And many of the things Christian was told to do won't be done unseen. Even if they were to let her find her family, she would be disappointed. Disappointed that it wasn't what she expected.

"I'll report to you every day." Christian assured them.

No. No that's not what they wanted. The Three had advised him to report to them every third day. Details were essential in this.

"Okay...fine. Not a problem." Christian hissed and he went to a quick hang up. He threw his phone to the ground, stomping on it vigorously. I didn't matter though; The Three would send him another anyway.

The Three had Black Shadows all over the world, one in every continent. Anything that the Black Shadows wanted was at their disposal. From the beginning they were already showering themselves in nothing but the finest bath salts and conditioners. Money wasn't a problem since the government was secretly funding them, thinking they were funding an entertainment cause.

So basically, each Black Shadow could choose how they wanted to live. They could choose to be a billionaire with three different summer houses. Or a Black Shadow could choose an average life, living in the suburbs with freshly cut grass and dog just so that no one would suspect of them.

But Grace didn't have that choice, since she was the first girl to ever become a Black Shadow. She was either to live with Christian or live alone in solitude, which meant that she was to live in a four block radius from Christian's house.

Not knowing she was awake, Grace smiled, only missing the beginning of their conversation. They're finally letting me go she thought to herself. Christian had no idea she was awake and she didn't want to ruin it by not letting him tell her. Grace turned over and continued watching him trample all over his phone.

"I think you hurt the phone's feelings..." Grace said as she hoisted herself up from the bed. She had slept through the night like a baby and she feel a million bucks with all the energy stored up inside her. The silence between them only filled the room faster since Christian didn't know how to tell her. I should just tell her, shouldn't I? He questioned his conscious. But how could he tell her without breaking down in pieces? This plan will self-destruct if he couldn't hold it together.

"I just got off the phone with them." Christian began, sitting down at the end of his bed. He could face her without showing his emotions but why was he so sensitive? He is a trained liar for Pete's sake.

"Oh?" Grace responded, wrapping the blanket around her. "And you decided to smash your phone?" she smiled.

"Shut up." He grinned. "I have to tell you something.

"Okay...then tell me." Grace commanded as she sit down next to him. She hated suspense and she hated Christian keeping it in.

"Just tell me."

Christian sighed, "Fine."

"Then tell me." Grace laughed.

"I am!" Christian told her.

Christian looked back at the phone. Then looked at Grace. She was perfect, quite true when they trained him not to love and trained him never to show his feelings but he cared for Grace and he didn't want to hurt her.

"They're letting you go." Christian confessed. "They're letting to go find them."

She nodded, pretending to take it all in. she looked over at her Swiss knife on the table. How was she supposed express this? Was she happy? Was she excited? Was she happy and excited at the same time?

"Now, what?" Christian stared at her, looking for answer. He had to know what her plan was so that he can report back to them. Report to them...maybe he can lie to them.

"Now, I look for them. I mean, they'll give me something...right? If they have any leads from them..." Grace breathed. "I don't know where to start. I don't even know where I was born."

"Don't worry...I'll help you." Christian told her, taking her hand in his.

Grace grip on tighter, "You sure about that?"
