It's been a week since the two newcomers arrived. According to them, one of them, Yoongi, was a college student and the other, Namjoon, was a regular office worker from Seoul.

They met when Yoongi's college became a refugee camp during the early stages of the outbreak. As expected, the camp was eventually overrun by a bunch of plunderers, followed by the infected. Then they separated from the group.

This is what they've told us so far. Not that I trust them, but after hearing their half-cooked story, it appears to be partially accurate.

But I couldn't lower my guard when I was around them. I anticipated them to pull off a sneak attack at any time, but they appear genuine.

I don't know.

If it hadn't been the end of the world, I would have believed them right away.

Back then, I had no idea how the world and its people worked. Nobody ever understood the reality. But not anymore. I have seen too much and understand that not everyone in this world is as innocent as they appear.

So not only me, but Taehyung, Jimin, Jungkook, and even Yeontan are concerned about the two.

To be honest, watching out for these two is really tiring. There are infected outside waiting to devour us, and then these two here. We would all be dead by now if Jimin and Taehyung hadn't fixed the gate.

What a nuisance these two have brought with them.

At present, everyone is going about their assigned tasks.

My brother and I are cutting the woods, Jimin is preparing lunch, Taehyung is getting the water, Dahyun is feeding Yeontan, and the two are cleaning the house—I hope neatly.

PLOP

It is a lot of fun to chop wood until your muscles ache and you regret your hasty decision to accept the assigned task.

I sighed for the hundredth time, which is an exaggeration, but you get the point. Then I stretched my hands to get rid of the pain in the muscles. As I raised my head, my gaze met with Taehyung's brown eyes.

The animosity that had always existed between us has altered with time.

Even though we never had another chat, we stopped avoiding each other. I stopped annoying him as well. Perhaps this is due to the presence of extra members.

'Oh, stop gazing at him and finish your work'.
Ah, that's my mind talking. She never quite down.

I sighed again and began to break my back, or rather, the wood.

But I couldn't help but look at Taehyung again. Fortunately, this time his eyes did not clash with mine dramatically. I'm not sure why I'm disappointed that his eyes aren't looking at me. What in the world?

But what's he doing?

Taehyung is crouched down.

Why? Why is he doing this?
I'm certain he's not avoiding me or is shy, but it's something else.

'Something bad'. My mind whispered.

After a short while, he stood up and gazed at the end less forest greens.

Did he notice any infectious people there? But why it feel like he's having an internal panic?

He turned to face me, shushed, and motioned for me to stop working and come inside just as I was ready to ask him a loud question.

What's that? My heart begins to race as I prepare for the worst.

I muttered, "Kookie-ah, we've got to go in." I have no idea why I'm whispering. However, my gut is alerting me of the imminent danger.
