"Ugh," Namjoon grunted, falling beside me. Jimin was crouching down on the other side of me, and why? Well, we have arrived at our destination with a mission.
Mission Saving Brother.
Actually, I was not expecting such a large compound. I am aware that the park is large, but I have never visited it. I had never had to do so until now. From the outside, the compound appeared to be quite large, with large walls all around, perhaps an acre or two.
The front gate is so massive that it is impossible for anyone, let alone an infected person, to open it. And there are a lot of security guards stationed at the top of the gate, which looks like a small house built on top of the gate; I am not sure how they did it, but you get the idea. So, obviously, I can not go through the front gate unless I want to be buried six feet underground. And who knows if the guys we have escaped from are here. If they show up, we are done.
So we are in the back of the area, where there is nothing but darkness and no humans to be found. And infected, they are everywhere actually. Fortunately, we were able to find the correct location and jump over before the infected could reach us.
I did not consider these risks when I walked out of that room. I did not think about anything else other than getting out of there and finding the person who was trapped in this compound.
I want to be sorry about it, but I do not want to, especially now that I am here with two new companions. Even if I am unable to leave, I will ensure that they do.
"Who is the soldier here?" Jimin's inquiry reached my ears.
I looked at him as though he had lost his mind. What a strange question to ask.
“What do you mean”? I responded with a question.
"I am the soldier, and I should be the one protecting the citizens, not the other way around."
Damn him. He never stops reading me.
"You really are reading my mind, aren't you?"
Jimin simply shrugged in response to my question.
"Well, you are no longer a soldier; we are on the same platform, trying not to be gobbled up by the infected and possibly murdered by the people here. So, for the time being, let us support one another." Jimin simply shook his head in response.
Namjoon peered around nervously.
"Remember the way?" I questioned him.
"I have never been to this area before," he said, almost unwilling to proceed.
"Then we have to explore," which we certainly must.
Jimin chose to lead the way, as expected. It was the middle of the night and quiet, which was a plus for us. There are security guards all around. Their gaze is drawn away from the darkness through which we are moving.
“Where do you think he is”? I whispered to Namjoon as we snuck in.
"There is a base for people they captured, and I believe he is there," Namjoon stated.
He is not sure, which I understand because he might not know where the brother has moved, especially after our "little" fight.
"It is there," Namjoon pointed to a tent.
That might be the location Namjoon mentioned. There are no people in that area, and the coastline is clear.
“Should we move”? I asked Jimin, not wanting to make a mistake and be caught by them.
