So I have 2 days off work. Why not write something? Let's see what I can come up with.

~Haven's POV~

The second I shut the door to the Uber, the driver sped off. I looked in the direction the Uber was going and shook my head in disbelief.

I walked further on the sidewalk pulling out the paper with the information on it out my coat pocket. The number portion of the address matched the building I was in front of, so I rushed to the door escaping the threat of the harsh winds. I rung the bell waiting for a response. After a few seconds someone opened the door. A tall older lady stood at the door with a stern expression on her face.
"May I help you?"
I instantly pulled out the folder my doctor had given to me before I left Arkham and handed it to the lady. She rolled her eyes taking it from me and quickly opened it. Her eyes stayed on the information she was reading on me, then her eyes averted from the folder to me.
"Come in," she said stepping aside so I could walk in.
I had no problem letting the warmth invite me in from the coldness.
"Have a seat," the lady said pointing to a few chairs sitting in the corner of the living area.
She sat  back at her desk and grabbed the office phone. "She's here," she said staring me down as she listened to the response on the other end. "Mrs. Caldwell, will see you in her office," she said flatly as she pointed in the direction to the left of her.
I walked over to the door, slowly opening it. Behind the door revealed a lady in about her forty's, average height, short hair, dressed as if she was on a tight budget, but wore expressive glasses. She gave me a warm smile standing up.
"Haven, welcome to Life Solutions Training Center. My name is, Lauren Caldwell," she greeted coming around her desk with her hand extended for a handshake.
I looked at her hand weirdly, but kindly took response with the handshake.
"Have a seat, Haven," she gestured having a seat at her desk.
"This place is more then just a facility. This will eventually be a place you can call home. We're bringing in young ladies ages seventeen to twenty-one to get help with housing, food assistance, medical coverage, schooling and job placement. We also help with counseling and other medical services," she explained studying my expression.   I just sat there with a blank expression. The place wasn't my home. I knew in my heart I never had a home.
"Haven, I knew things have been hard for you, but I promise I'm only here to help. Will you let me do that?"
I looked at the picture on her wall. It was a picture of her, a man who  I assumed was her husband, three young girls and I cute fluffy dog. They looked like a perfect family. She couldn't have looked at these broken girls as her family. It was all an act, but I knew how to be an actress as well.
I looked at her smiling warmly as I nodded yes in response to her question.
Relief covered her worried expression. "Good. That's a start, Haven and I'm proud of you for it." She stood up from her chair." "Follow me."
I did as told as we walked out the office. We walked further through the house and ended up going in a much bigger living area with girls around my age siting down.
"We have a new edition to the Life Solutions family. Meet, Haven everyone," she introduced. "Haven, this is Amber, Gabriella, Natasha, Vikki Rose, Rebecca.....
I literally tuned her out at that point. The people were irreverent to me. I was ready to get my room and sleep. This shit was pointless.
"Hey, Haven," they said, some in unison, some behind each other.
I just waved slightly.
"You too good to speak or something," one girl asked with a attitude.
Another girl laughed.
I just looked at them blankly.
"Girls, Haven is mute. I want everyone to treat her with respect and you already know I don't tolerate bullying. If I find out anyone of you are mistreating her or anyone for that matter, you will automatically be put out the program. We're family here. Nicole, Haven's your new roommate. Show her to her new room. Dinner is served at six Haven. Welcome," Mrs. Caldwell, said as she walked out the room.
"You coming," Nicole said standing at the threshold on the opposite direction.
I stood up grabbing my bag following her. We walked upstairs and down a long hallway until we stopped at a door.
"This is our room, fifteen. Remember that because these bitches will be on bullshit with you for going in they room," she said opening the door. "This is my side, that's yours," she said pointing to my twin sized bed in the corner with a grey comforter on it.
I walked over to it throwing my bag on it.
"We share the tv, but I have school and a job, so I never have time to watch the shit. Half the closet is yours. These two bottom dresser drawer are yours. You can decorate your side however you want. I only have one rule, don't touch my shit without asking. We cool on that?"
I sat down stilling mentally adjusting to my environment as I nodded yes in response to her.
"So I gotta know the person who lays across from me at night," she said giving me a notepad and pen. "Write down the answers to my questions."
I raised an eyebrow, but I grabbed the source of communication for me.
"How old are you?" She asked.
I wrote nineteen on the pad.
"Your birthday?"
February 23rd
"So you're a Pisces. You have a birthday coming up."
I nodded my head with a smile.
"Are you originally from, Gotham?"
I just nodded yes.
"Where was the last place you stayed?"
Don't want to talk about it.
"Ok. Any brothers and sisters?"
I shook my head no.
There was a knock at the door, which made Nicole answer it.
"It's time for dinner," one of the girls said.
"I'll finish these questions after dinner."

Hope y'all enjoyed this chapter. I'm really enjoying writing for y'all. I'll write more chapters tomorrow. Thanks for the read.
