Carina POV
"Mama!!" I hear Layla shout.
When I turn around, I see she has tears running down her rosy cheeks and she had a scared look on her face.
"Bambina, what's wrong?" I ask as I get down so I was eye level with her.
"A man that looks mad is shouting at mommy and he slapped her," She tells me.
I look behind me at the team and they are standing up. We all race downstairs to see Maya on the floor beat up and a man standing over her. Andy is standing beside Maya telling him to stop but instead he punched her in the face and she fell to the floor.
Warren, Dean and Gibson run and restrain the man while I go to Maya. Travis goes to Andy and Vic has Layla in her arms.
"You stupid whore! You thought you could hide my daughter from me!" The man who I assumed to be Layla's dad shouted.
Sullivan comes in and tells us he called the police and they are on their way.
When they arrive, they take him away and Maya is still staring into space and she is not moving.
"Bambina!" I say while shaking her but she is still not moving.
I pick her up bridal style and take her to her bunk and put her on the bed. I get down on my knees in front of her and try to get her to focus on me.
Maya POV
I hear Carina's voice calling me and as I come back to senses she is blurry.
"Bambina, are you okay ?" I hear her say. Her voice laced with worry.
" Carina, " I say as I break down and wrap my arms around her neck and she just holds me.
I don't know how long we stayed like that for but the next thing I remember is being in my bed with Carina and Layla on either side of me snuggled up, peacefully sleeping and I thought about the stressful and chaotic day we had but I eventually fall back asleep thankful that my small but beautiful family is okay.
