I flew all of the way to my underground house, thinking if I was making a mistake.
Only I didn't need to think. I already knew.
But if this is what I needed to get rid of Captain, then so be it.
Besides, I had a plan. I would give him his pathetic little children without them knowing who I am. I would let them stay with him for a while. Then, I would make it look like I was there to help them. I would tell them that they didn't have to serve him anymore, and that victory could be theirs.
And a couple of details later, Captain C.B. is dead, the kids will be home, and all is right with the land. Since time doesn't exist in Neverland, only night and day, the children would be back in the time it takes to get here and back.
I finally found the entrance to my underground house, just outside of the Indian grounds.
I slowly crept into Peter's room to scare him.
I took in a deep breath before shouting and...
"Boo!" Peter's jingles, which I translated into words, yelled.
I jumped out of fright and turned around to hit whoever was there.
"Who knew you were a karate master?" He teased at the sight of me repeatedly chopping and kicking the air.
I rolled my eyes at his smart remark. "At least I'm full sized, not just a little pixie," I insulted flicking him away with my finger.
His whole face and body became red making a red aurora surround him.
"I'm a fairy, Tinkerbell!" He angrily corrected using the nickname that I hate.
I turned around to a small desk and opened my pixie dust pouch so that it was flat.
"Just so you know, Pan, it's not a nickname if it's longer than the actual name. Oh, and could you add some dust to this pouch?" I asked.
"Are you going somewhere?" He asked flying over to the 'pouch' which was in reality a piece of cloth attached to a string.
"We're going somewhere. To the Mainland," I grinned.
"What? But you hate the Mainland, because of..well."
I ignored him and told him to just put the dust on the cloth. Without a word, he fluttered his wings leaving a pile of dust behind.
"This should be enough for all of us," I mumbled.
"All of us? Who else is coming?" He asked.
"It's not who is coming, it's who is coming back with us."
I could tell that he was confused so I explained everything.
About the man on man fight.
About the agreement.
About the plan.
Everything."Tink, I don't know if this is a good..."
"Please call me Maya, Pan," I pleaded.
"Please call me Peter, Tink," he debated.
"Touché, my friend," I said as I tied the dust pouch around my neck.
"Ok," I let out after a deep breath.
"Right now?" he ask.
I just nodded. It was dark out. The perfect time.
"Well, I'm with you every step of the way," he assured me.
All I did was nod again. I couldn't get words out. I just kept telling myself that the kids would be alright. They would be alright.
"Tink? Tinkerbell? Maya!" Pan shouted while flying in front of my face.
I gasped at the sudden notice of his shouting. I guess that I was zoned out.
"Are you sure that you want to go through with this?" He asked landing on my shoulder.
"Y-yeah," I stuttered.
I took a deep breath before sprinkling extra pixie dust on myself. Just incase.
I then flew above the ground with Pan right behind me. We flew higher into the sky without words. We didn't need any.
He knew how emotional this was for me. I knew how he felt about going. Then I saw it. The second star to the right. The brightest star in the sky.
I made a sudden stop.
Pan went past me then stopped as well noticing my hesitation. He slowly flew towards me when a tear escaped my eye.
"Maya, this is probably the first time I've seen you cry. I know you don't want me to talk about what happened," he started.
I let my head fall making me look towards the water that lay beneath us.
"But you have to put that behind you. Let the past remain where it is. If we let it come back to haunt us, we'll never have the time to make a good present. Which will become a memorable past."
I let another tear roll down my face as a smile escaped my mouth.
"I really wish that I could hug you, but you're only three inches tall," I teased.
He started to come closer to my cheek when I backed away.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I was going to give you a kiss on the cheek," he answered nervously. "I-I mean a friendly kiss."
"A... kiss?"
That sounded very familiar. But, hey. I almost forgot what a Monday is once. Maybe it's another time reference?
"Never mind, we need to go. Those kids will only be enslaved for a little while," he assured me.
I took in another breath and started off again. He let out a small "Yes!" When I started to go.
I flew right into the bright star. Bright colors swirled around me. I hadn't been in there for awhile.
"Take us to anywhere in New York," I told the bright glow.
Then suddenly, right after a bright flash, I was right above a huge green lady holding a torch.
"Did they capture one of the giants from home and encage it in some sort of rock?" I asked Pan.
"Nope, that's a sign of freedom!" he gushed.
I rolled my eyes at the fact that he thought that the Mainland was so great.
It was only filled with disappointment, abandonment, and robbery. It may seem pleasant at first, but it is just here to suck away all of your hope and happiness.
"Let's go and find us some suckers," I said as I flew toward the closest building.
"Tink!" Pan yelled.
"What?" I moaned put of annoyance that he still calls me that name.
He laughed a little bit. "That's not an apartment. That's an office building," he laughed.
I started to blush out of embarrassment.
"Why don't you just lead the way."
He just smiled and led the way to a big building. He told me to stay where I was while he looked around, and to "Stay out of sight!"
I watched him look in each of the windows until he stopped at one of them.
He motioned me to come over. I looked inside the room, and all I could say was...
"Perfect."
