THE SOUNDS OF the rumbling walls were silent to Diana's ears as she laid, curled up on her side in her cot. She was still shivering through her cold gown and her even colder sheets. She wished that stupid stone gave her powers with fire so she could at least stay warm but she didn't get that luxury.

Just those stupid yellow energy blasts that she can't use without a HYDRA agent putting a bullet in her head. Though at this point, with long she's been in captivity, it didn't seem to be that bad of an option. Diana alone with her thoughts was dangerous. She understood why only a small group of people could tolerate her.

Diana being alone with her thoughts made Bucky a constant subject for her brain to talk about. I wonder how Bucky's doing. I hope he drank enough water today. Is it even daytime? How long have I been here? How long will they keep me alive? Will I become the next Winter Soldier?

The idea of her being stripped of her identity and being under the command of HYDRA, killing whoever they wanted for their favor, made Diana sick. If she had food in her stomach, she probably would've puked it out. Diana couldn't stop thinking of her being the next Winter Soldier. Bucky had no qualms about murdering Steve when he was under their mind control.

She couldn't imagine being the reason for Steve's downfall. Diana giggled to herself at the thought of being in an actual physical fight with Steve. She could barely take Bucky down and that's when Steve was by her side. She couldn't help the giggling that turned into cackling laughter. Her stomach tightened at the feeling and her small frame curled up even more as the laughter echoed in the concrete room.

Maybe they'll kill her for being too annoying and put her out of her misery.

"Diana?" His voice was music to her ears. She lifted her head and looked over her shoulder but Steve was faster with getting to her, "oh my god."

Diana felt Steve tuck his arms under the bend of her knee and the curve of her back. He held her close to his chest, an immediate wave of heat washing over her, allowing her body to relax, an ache settled around her bones from how long her body was tended up.

"Jesus, you're freezing," Steve frowned as he carried her out of the concrete room.

"You're telling me," Diana shuddered as the warmth calmed the goosebumps that ran along her skin, "I couldn't sleep."

Steve was silent for a while as he navigated through the maze of the base. Diana wouldn't have been able to make it out on her own, she had no idea where anything was and she was sure they made fake exits to make prisoners go crazy if they tried making escape plans.
