Not just on screen partners

Part 1 : "the plan"

Alvaro was walking nervously in his dressing room. He called Pedro because he was really freaking out. Pedro was like a brother to him, they told each other everything and they could always count on each other. Normally Alvaro is a real calm person and Pedro knows that, but this time, this call, he wasn't calm at all, he was freaking out. So Pedro rushed to his room, because he knew it gotta be serious. "Hey! I'm here! Tell me, what's wrong?" he shouted at Alvaro with his last breath he had, because he had been running to his room. "Umm..." Alvaro didn't knew where to start. "Come on, you're not gonna tell me that I've never run as fast in my life like now, and you won't tell me what's wrong?!" "Yes, yes. I'm gonna tell you, I just didn't know where to start" Alvaro tried to calm Pedro. Pedro really thought he was having a heart attack or something, so now, he was a little bit ashamed for the reason.

"So, umm, yes." Alvaro was trying to find the right words to say this. But it was hard. "Oh just spit it out for god sakes!" Pedro couldn't wait any longer, so he just had to say it the way it was.

"I think I'm in love with Itziar"

Pedro didn't say a single thing. He just stood there, nothing. Not a surprised face, not any expression on his face. "Um, I just told you I love Itziar and you're just standing there like I just told you I have a stain on my shirt, even then, I would get a better reaction. Why aren't you saying anything?" Pedro took a deep breath "because I already know, and actually yes, I am a little bit surprised that you just know until now" Alvaro didn't understand a single thing from what he just said. "what do you mean you'd already know?" He was walking around very nervously. "I mean, look at you two. You're both great, great actors, really. I have a lot of respect for your talent, but, nobody can act so in love like you guys do. The way you two look at each other, you can't act that"

Alvaro was standing there completely in shock. He looked Pedro carefully in the eyes when he was trying to understand how it could be possible that someone found out that he was in love with Itziar, before him. "But, tell me, how did you find out?" Pedro looked at Alvaro with a big smile on his face, a smile that said : How is it possible that you found out JUST now??

"I, umm. We were talking after shootings, and she was really cold. So we got a coffee together. But it was already very late and she was very tired, so I gave her a ride to her home. And after that... I couldn't sleep. I just thought about her, about her smile, and, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I thought how it would be to hug her, not just like we do know, but an actual hug, that says I love you, you know? I thought what It would be like to kiss her. ""Okay, that's enough hermanito, I don't wanna her your sex thoughts" Pedro was laughing at Alvaro, but he saw that he wanted to be serious about the topic, so he tried to hide his smile.

"Does she feels the same way, or does she know?" asked Pedro carefully. "I don't know, well I've never said anything to her about this, but I don't know. What if she doesn't feel the same way?"

"Hermanito, I got to say, there always could be a chance that I'm fault, but, how she looks at you... I have to tell you, that's love." Pedro took Alvaro's shoulders because he wanted to reach him at another level. "But what if that's Raquel, what if that's just acting, because she's really good"

"I know, she is really good. But.. I just can say what I think, and I think you have to talk to her about this" Pedro tried to comfort Alvaro that everything would be okay if he talked to her, but he wasn't convinced. "But what if I put our friendship in danger?" Alvaro let out a sight. He didn't know what to do. He loves Itzi, that's for sure. But did he want to put such a beautiful friendship in danger? "Do you want to be just friends with her" Pedro tried to play this little friend- shrink role, but that didn't fit him very well. "What do you mean if I want to just be friends with her? Of course not! of course i want more then just be friends! Have you even listened to me because I'm telling you for about a half hour now that I can't wish for anything else."

"Relax, hermanito." He tried to calm Alvaro, but that didn't work. "Relax?! I have to relax?! I fell in love with my on screen parter, one of my best friends and I have to relax?!" When he actually said those words, he heard himself. He fell in love with her. Did he just say that? He loves her, and it isn't just a crush. "Look, I understand you don't want to ask her. But what if you just act the way you guys do now and try to understand her signals. And then when you know where she is, you make a move" Alvaro liked that plan. It was a plan. Sometimes he could compare himself to the professor, he also liked it when he had a plan.

"Those signals, what are they?"

"well, you just hang out with her a lot, and then when she does something that gives the signal that she loves you too or is also into you, you make your move"

"What do you mean with signals and a move?"

"You kiss her, hermanito"

"kiss her? I have to kiss Itzi?"

"Only if you're sure that the signals are right!"

"Then what are those goddamn signals?!"

"Okay, first, you have to stop shouting at me, I'm just here to help." Pedro knew this was very important and rare for Alvaro, but still, he just wanted to help and he didn't have to be mad at him for falling in love with her. "when she laughs at you when you make a bad joke, when she touches her hair more then usually, but watch out for that, because women do that a lot. He started laughing at his own joke. But Alvaro didn't pay attention to the joke. Bad jokes, playing with her hair. "okay, what else?" "Try to hold her hand and watch how she reacts or I don't know, try to place your hands on her waist and just look how she reacts, if she pulls her hands back, you know she's not in that spot."

"Okay, signals, and then the move."

"Just wait some time for that move, because when you do that and the timing isn't right, you're not gonna lose your love, but also your friend." He tried to warn Alvaro. Because he knew how it would be, it would be awkward between the two of them, they would stop hanging out, and eventually their friendship would fall apart. And besides, Pedro didn't want that hanging out with the three of them would stop, he and Itzi were good friends too.

"Okay, I'll try. But can you keep this between us?" Alvaro looked at his with a sort of puppy eyes, almost begging him to keep his mouth shut about this topic. "Of course." He knew he could trust Pedro.

At that night, Alvaro couldn't think of anything else then "the plan" He started to repeat it over and over in his head. "Act normal, hang out with her, look for signals, look for more signals, and eventually... the move" It seemed so simple, but that was not the case. It was about Itzi, Itziar Ituño. His onscreen parter. The woman he had kissed several times, but still not had the kiss that was theirs. He had kissed Raquel, Lisboa, but not Itzi. Not her. And just like always, he wanted the thing he couldn't get. Itzi was a good friend, they became very close, well he knew her now for 3 years. And it is much easier being close with her, because they have to film, well... sex scenes and stuff and they have to act like they're in love. But that seemed not so hard for Alvaro since today.

The next morning, Alvaro came back to the set, put his 'professor' clothes on, his glasses and he was ready for the day. Although he thought, Jézus came to him with changing in the script. Normally today, he would film the scene were Alba aka Nairobi asks the professor to be the father of his child. But now, he had to film a scene with Itziar. A scene were they acted like they were in love. And just at that moment, when he thought about her and her smile. "Hey, alvaro, hope you're in a good mood today, because we're filming together" She smiled at him and that made his heart melt for her. He loved her. And he didn't want to hide it, but he had too. So he did, although, he tried. "I'm always in a good mood when I see you" She winked at him and went to the set. She leaved while he was imagine calling her his.
