Entrance
It was pitch black and the only thing lighting the night was the street lamps, the sidewalks we're quiet and the only noise was cars driving on the street, there were two specifically going to visit a friend in their apartment. It was an hour drive and they were just departing onto the freeway, the song Vienna by the one and only Billy Joel was playing on repeat,
"You doing alright there candy" the driver aimed the car mirror at the black haired woman in the back seats who was laying down, they had a samurai hate covering their face, they lifted the hat a little bit to look into the diver's eyes in the mirror. They paused for a little then sighed and started talking.
"Do you think they'll be alright iggy?.." they were confused at the question and looked back at the road. "We've talked so many times about their health, they haven't been sent to hospital have they?.. and they are stronger then we think you just gotta wait and see" candy chuckled and sat up "your right mate, but what if we can't wait and see..what if something.. happens." Iggy turned his eyes to the passenger and gave a slight concerned look and moved his gaze back to the pavement ahead. Candy laid back down and turned her face away from Iggy
It was quiet for awhile and they have already left the freeway, suddenly someone messaged candy, she looked at her phone and sat up
"It's them! They texted me!" Iggy smiled and quickly responded to the excited person in the back "reply to them then, don't leave them hanging" she nodded and responded to them
"There! I've responded"
"By the way what did they say?"
"They said where we were, I responded with 'we are 5 minutes away'"
"But we aren't? We are 2 minutes away now?"
"Oh! Should I changed the text-"
"No no keep it"
She nodded and was excited to meet them.
The car stopped outside of an apartment building, she quickly hopped out nearly falling onto the street floor.
"Calm down their eager beaver" he turned off the radio and took out the car keys, suddenly candy grabbed him and dragged him out and slammed the door.
"Woah! Alright alright calm down!" He locked the car doors and they both walked into the apartment building, people waved at them with a smile, they waved back and headed to the elevator.
The elevator wasn't filled to the brim with people like all the other times they visited, something was off and they both could tell, Iggy pressed "floor 3" the floor their friend was on.
"Iggy.."
"I know candy.."
"..somethings not right.."
"Let's just wait and see."
Candy nodded and the elevator door shut, if something goes wrong there's no way out now. The elevator was long.. 28 seconds they were in there for. But it felt like 1 minute. The elevator opened and. It was the same.
"Iggy."
The boy stayed quiet. He knows that this isn't floor 3. They stayed in the elevator for a good 5 minutes thinking that they'd had press the wrong button and eventually they'd be taking back to the lobby but no. There it was. The text they were expecting from the friend..the one they were supposed to be visiting.. Texted them. "Where are you?... I can't track your location.." candy looked at Iggy and back at wherever they were.. the only response that was able to come out her mouth was.
"I don't know."
There was no signal nor Wi-Fi so what was the point in texting. All they can do now is try and figure out where they were. Candy shoved her phone into her pocket and headed into the room. There was a desk area and a porter that takes bags to rooms for people, there was also a desk with draws. There was a big key rack for keys but only one key was standing and it had '0001' on it. The only door with that number was the door over there with a lock. '0001' Iggy checked the draws and there was only a note and a tiny cup or instead of a note or cup there was an unused ash tray, candy headed into the desk area and grabbed the key.
"What ya got there Candy?"
"A key for the door?"
"Nice! I got a written note here?"
"What's it say?"
Iggy cleared his throat and started talking
"This place..it isn't the apartment building I was going to visit my friend. It's different more like an hotel..an inn, there's a key though. The key has the name '0001' which is obviously for the locked door near the desk with the name '0001' but I'm still confused. Why did I get here instead of my friend's Floor? Is the elevator cursed? Anyway before I started scaring myself with my weird words of myths I better start heading off into the direction of the door and find my god dame way outta this place. I don't think I'll even be able to get outta here since I'm the kind of lazy person who gets other people to do their dirty work and I know that sounds rude and now that I think about it..it is- but enough of me starting to self reflect on my mistakes I need to get going. I'll leave letters or notes around the place so if anyone else gets stuck here can get out safer then me.
Signed by.."
"Signed by?"
"It looks like their name got wiped off..it's smudged"
"Ugh..of course it is! But anyway let's get going I wanna do the same and get out"
"Hold on..it says they were visiting a friend as well.. do you think?.."
"..let's just get outta here Iggy..please.."
"Alright"
Iggy walked over to the door that Candy was at, she opened up the door and it was another room.. they stared at each other and back at the room. Will they escape?
