Prompt: Erwin and Levi grow tired of (Y/N) and Hange's obliviousness and set the two up on a date
Hange held out a hand and you passed them the magnifying glass, eagerly awaiting the results of the experiment you two had just conducted. They peered at the object under the glass, humming as they thought out of possible conclusions.
"Well?" You asked excitedly. "What is it? Are our results significant? Did we find something?"
"Well..." Hange said slowly, looking over to you with a grin. "Yes, yes we did! The results are significant, and we've successfully figured out the composition of this bacteria! The experiment was a success, (Y/N)!"
"Yay!" You cheered, and without thinking too much about it, you threw your arms around Hange. In the heat of the moment, you had acted impulsively. It was only a couple of seconds later did you realize that you were hugging Hange Zoe, the person you had been obsessing over since forever. You quickly let go and stepped back, still smiling.
"You did well," Hange cleared their throat, turning their head to look at a sample. You couldn't see it at the time, but there was a light flush on their cheeks. "Couldn't have done this without you."
"What are you talking about? Of course, you could have!" You gushed. "Hange, you're so brilliant, I bet you can literally cure any illness out there. You'll probably have a huge scientific breakthrough or something...like Einstein!"
"Oh, (Y/N)," Hange shook their head. "Thanks, dear, but I really couldn't have done it without you as my assistant. Do you even know how intelligent you are—"
"It's good to hear that the experiment was a success," Erwin cleared his throat, causing you and Hange to startle. The two of you had forgotten that you had invited Levi and Erwin to the lab to see the results. They had been standing there the entire time.
"So, we'll have something for the company fair next week?" Levi raised an eyebrow. "We don't want to go there empty-handed. I don't care about significance. Is it good enough to display?"
Hange huffed. "Yes, we can display it, because it is significant. I told you the importance of statistically significant results before!"
"That is great," Erwin beamed. "Good job, Hange. I knew you would be able to handle this project. And good job (Y/N), you did well making sure Hange was kept in line."
"No, sir, not at all!" You shook your head. "Hange was great all by themselves!"
Erwin chuckled, shaking his head with amusement. Erwin Smith was the CEO of the research company that you and Hange worked in. Levi was second in command, and the two really needed to see results from Hange's lab. The company wasn't doing so well, but these results could improve the company's ratings once more.
"Thank you for inviting us here and for your hard work. I'll go admit this discovery into the convention," Erwin stated as he turned to leave, Levi following close behind him.
The two walked in silence for a couple of minutes before Erwin spoke up. "How long do you think it will take Hange and (Y/N) to realize that they're both in love with the other?"
Levi scoffed, shaking his head. "Honestly, for scientists, the two are really dense. (Y/N) spent the entire meeting sucking up to Hange and discussing their brilliance. Hange spent the entire meeting staring at (Y/N), their eyes all lovey-dovey. It's stupid."
Erwin smiled. "Ah, but Levi. Love is not stupid. I think it's quite sweet that our coworkers have fallen for each other. Perhaps they need a bit of help admitting their feelings. I know that Hange, despite their brilliance, might not even have acknowledged their feelings yet."
