Warning: None
Prompt: Fluff oneshot with Sasha!
"Let's go to a carnival!"
You looked up from your laptop, looking up at your eager girlfriend. Sasha was practically bouncing up and down, eagerly awaiting your answer. "I would love to, but I have a deadline coming up. I really need to finish this."
"Oh, come on!" Sasha whined. She walked over to your chair, throwing her arms around your shoulders. "Pleaseee! We haven't gone anywhere for weeks!"
"I'm sorry, love," you said apologetically. "I only wrote one page out of this ten-page essay. It's due in five days and I need to get it done."
Sasha sighed. She remained in her place though, her cheek pressed against your head. She was warm and soft, and her presence made it difficult for you to concentrate. You looked up at her, observing the way her lips were downturned, the sadness present in her eyes. Your heart tugged at her obvious display of sadness. She noticed you watching and pouted a little, causing her eyes to grow ever wider.
You groaned, unable to withstand it any longer. "Okay, fine. We can go to the festival."
"Yay!" Sasha cheered, squeezing you close. She kissed your cheek before pulling away. "I'm going to go change, we'll leave in a half-hour."
You shook your head, amused. You weren't upset about being forced to go to the festival, in fact, you could hardly stand seeing Sasha sad. She knew this and often took advantage of your soft spot for her. Maybe spending time at a festival would be good for you.
--
An hour later, you found yourself in the middle of a lively carnival. Kids ran by you, laughing and joking. There were vendors, and the scent of the food they sold lingered heavily in the air. Cotton candy, popcorn...fried Oreos. In the near distance, you could see the flashing lights of many rides.
"Doesn't this look fun?" Sasha beamed, staring straight at the fried Oreos booth.
"Sasha, no," you warned, reaching out to grab her hand. "Remember the last time we went to an amusement park? You ate three tubs of popcorn, drank a milkshake, and then threw up after we went on one ride. Rides first and then food."
Sasha wilted a little but nodded, squeezing your hand. "Okay, fine. We'll get the fried Oreos later. Do you want to go on the pirate ship first? And then the haunted house?"
"They have a haunted house here?" You exclaimed, surprised. "I thought those only came up around Halloween time?"
"It is Halloween time," Sasha grinned. "You've just been too caught up in your work to notice."
The pirate ship ride was anticlimactic. You had thought that it would fully turn over so that everyone was hanging off their seats, but it didn't go that far out. But Sasha had definitely enjoyed it. She had laughed loudly, her hair flying in the wind as the ride bounced back and forth quickly. Her laughter warmed your heart and you began to forget all about your work.
"Don't be too scared when we go through the haunted house," Sasha said, linking her arm with yours. "They're just actors, after all. It'll be fine."
"Uh-huh, you think I'm going to be scared?" You narrowed your eyes. "You're the one who can't even look at a spider without screeching. Or a clown."
"Hey! This is a haunted house about zombies, I'm perfectly fine with zombies," Sasha refuted. She tugged you to the beginning of the haunted house line, where a bored attendant was taking tickets. The beginning of the haunted house wasn't that bed. There were cobwebs and plastic ghosts hanging around.
