"I hate this." is the first thing my not so thoughtful boyfriend says.

He stands their awkwardly without a shirt only with a vest and bootcut pants with boots. To put it all together a brown cowboy hat.

I love it.

"Babe you look great!" I try to cheer him up.

"You're only saying that because you love your outfit." he grumbles.

He's not wrong. I'm wearing a cow print puffy dress with black high strapped heels. My hair are in pigtails with my cowgirl hat pulling it all together. I feel prettier than I usually feel.

I run my hands through my dress.

"Do you like it?"

"I mean...I feel like you're showing a little too much. I would prefer for you to wear something more like..."

"You want me to wear pants?"

"Yeah. I would like for you to wear pants." he says while changing out of his costume.

"I really like my costume Grey. I don't want to change."

I can't believe this idiot. I mean it's not the first time he's told me. One time we went on a date and I wore a black dress that I had worn many times. He kept telling me that I was just trying too hard and that I should be embarrassed because I was showing my body off like it was the peoples eyes property. I burned that dress away after that night.

"If something happens to you then it's not my fault." he says while tying his organic shoes.

"Let's go. I don't want to be late." I say while still in disbelief. I don't know why I'm always surprised this isn't nothing new.

The entire car ride to Alices' was silent. Just the low humming to a Celine Dion song. When we get their I get out the car and immediately enter her house.

He can follow along this time.

The smell of beer and smoke immediately hits my nose. I really need a drink. I go over the kitchen that's filled with smoke from cigarettes and people who are making out.

Alright just grab a drink and find Alice.

I grab a red cup and walk over to the liquor segment. Before I can pour myself a drink I'm being pulled from my elbow.

"Why the hell are you drinking?" his pressure to my elbow is hurting me.

"Let go Grey. You're hurting me." I try not to show my pain.

"How does that feel huh?"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh Madelyn don't act like such an idiot. I know you don't love me! I know you're just with me because of my body. I'm not an idiot!" he puts more pressure on my elbow.

I know I should probably say something but the words can't seem to make their way out.

"Are you fucking serious? Do you seriously think she's with you because of your body?" I hear an unfamiliar voice.

"Mind your own business buddy." Grey's eyes never leave mine.

"Well you made it my business since you made a scene and well...you're standing in front of the bourbon." he says cheekily.
