Chapter 23

Siya Rains

I sat on the balcony of my hotel room, enjoying the view from the 19th floor. When I woke up Landon was gone, he left a note saying he would be back from his meeting in a few hours. I don't blame him for leaving, my head was spinning a little from the drinks last night, and I can't imagine what he is going through considering he drank a lot more than me.

I woke up around 11 am, missing my tour which started at 6:30 IN THE MORNING! Yeah I was definitely going to miss that anyways. Landon's meeting was at 10 so he left early I am guessing.

As I sipped on my tea, I thought about last night and how I would even begin to deal with a situation like this. I can't let Landon go so that he can figure out on his own that we belong together. Landon is very intelligent when it comes to intellectual and logical things but I think his brain freezes whenever he has to deal with emotional stuff. If I let him go it is just going to cause us pain and no one is going to be happy.

I was finally feeling better after I had a bath and a warm cup of tea with some brunch. Maybe I should just hang around the pool all day and relax. Then have a long chat with Landon and hammer some sense in him. He obviously loves me, I am no fool.

It was a perfect day, then my phone started ringing.

Analia.

Great.

Siya, stay calm.

"Hey Siya, Paul and I-"

"Okay no! I am done, I can't do this anymore. You are the most selfish person on this planet. I clearly don't like it when you talk about Paul, you know I have a case going on against him for assaulting my student and you-"

Good job, genius. My conscious mocked me.

"Woah, what did I do to freak you out-"

"What did you do? What haven't you done? You have possibly crossed every single line with me and I still continue to tolerate you." I scream at my phone.

Yes, I've been suppressing it so much that the rage came bursting out.

"All I said was Paul-"

"Yes, you did. And you should know by now that the name upsets me, I genuinely hate that man. He just likes to push people, it gives him pleasure to see people losing their mind because of him. I am so helplessly angry that I had to leave my country just to get away from your nonsense. But now I am done, I am coming back next week, I want you out of my apartment. You have bullied me throughout my entire childhood still I continued to love and protect you because you are my baby sister. But I can't do this anymore. This isn't healthy for me." I tell her as I finally calm down and stop yelling at her.

There was a moment of silence from the other end.

"I didn't do anything wrong, I just fell in love with Paul." She defends herself childishly.

"No you didn't, and you know in your heart that you don't even like him. People underestimate you, but I know you are smart, you can see when someone is using you. If you want to know what are the things you've done wrong I'll give you a list.

1.You bullied me for my appearance and made sure I knew that you were more attractive than me throughout our childhood and you still do it.

2.You went after Landon when it was obvious that I was in love with him

3.You started dating Paul, a man who I hate and is being charged for assault. Why? Just so you could get some money?

4.You chose him over me.
