Chapter 12
"I think you may have found your element," I smirked. He looked confused for a moment and turned to look at the fire, "I guess I have," Zayn whispered.
************************************************
Andy and Mr. Smith had come around to congratulate Zayn. I walked towards the bowl of water and played with the water by levitating it. Gen came around with another girl about our age with pretty blonde hair. I splashed Gen with water to which she turned around.
"Hey! What the hell?"
I started laughing and she scowled at me.
"Check this out," I placed my hand above the water and thought about the water swirling around in the bowl to which it did.
"Aw congratulations baby! I'm so proud of you!" Gen yelled and hugged me. "I want you to meet Cassandra," she gestured toward the pretty blonde that was a bit shorter than me.
"Hello Cassandra nice to meet you," I politely greeted her.
"Hi! You can just call me Cassie. Genevieve has told me about you."
"All good things, though," she quickly added.
I giggled. "Cassie it is. So have you been testing out the elements?" I directed the question to both of them.
"I just got here so I'm still looking," said Gen.
"I already found my element. It's spirit," Cassie announced proudly.
I clapped for her. "Bravo Miss Cassie," I said playfully and giggled.
"Now come on! Gen still needs to find her element,"
**
"I'm telling you, I have a good feeling about fire," I told Gen and pulled her towards the small fire.
"Just because Andy's element is fire," She said rolling her eyes.
"Of course! Soul mate's are compatible," I informed her and filled Cassie in with all the gossip about Gen and Andy.
"Just try it!"
I shoved Gen closer towards the fire. She was so close it could literally set her clothes on fire. She closed her eyes and stuck her index finger just on top of the burning flame. She pulled her finger away but it was still on fire. Her eyes were still closed and both Cassie and I gasped. Gen slowly opened her eyes and blew the fire out.
"Guess who's gonna burn your ass,"
**
I parted ways with the girls and found myself at the water bowl again. This time I wasn't alone though. Niall was already staring at the bowl.
"It helps to use your hands," I said startling him.
"Oh hey, Melissa," he greeted me with a smile.
"Here," I grabbed his hand from his pocket and placed it above the water bowl.
"Just concentrate on the water," I told him and let go of his hand.
Soon enough there was a ripple in the water and Niall had made some levitate on his hand.
"Awesome!" He fist pumped into the air which caused the water to splash all over his head. I started laughing at him and successfully collected the mess he had made on the floor.
"Thanks Melissa! We should get together to master the abilities that are water-bending," he said.
"How could I refuse."
**
I scanned the room to see who was still struggling to find their element. I spotted Cassie hanging out with Harry. It looked like they were flirting so I did not want to intrude. Liam was by the Earth section levitating some rocks in the air. I saw Louis walking around aimlessly just as his eyes landed on me.
"Hey babe," he greeted pecking me on the cheek.
"Hey,"
"Well have you found your element?" I asked him, poking his chest.
"Yes! Guess which," he said flicking my nose.
"Hmm, could it be the ability of annoyance?" I said.
"Hmm, no. Let me show you," He said.
I felt a gust of air hit me in the face and messing up my hair.
"Hey!" I said and punched him in the arm. "Stop it!"
"You asked for it, love,"
As Louis and I were bickering, Harry and Cassie came up to us.
"Hello air-filled arse," Harry said to Louis.
"Hello to you Mr. No ability," Louis replied sassily.
"I wouldn't say that if I were you," said Cassie with a glint in her eyes.
"Why not miss...." Louis trailed off.
"Cassie"
"Because of this," Harry exclaimed and looked Louis in the eyes. " Dance for me, monkey,"
Louis stared at Harry as if he were having an internal fight but soon enough gave in. He started pulling the most hilarious dance moves that ranged from shuffling to the sprinkler. We were all laughing hysterically at him until Mr. Smith came to see what the commotion was about.
"Stop this foolery Harold," Mr. Smith scolded Harry.
"Yes, sir!" Harry saluted and grabbed Louis shoulders and asked him to stop as he looked into his eyes. Louis quickly composed himself.
"Tomorrow you shall begin personalized classes with an instructor of your element. For now, you will only be able to use you abilities in class or whenever you are asked." Mr. Smith said this looking at Harry.
Tomorrow's gonna be a hell of a day.
