You see, when your main source of human interaction is in the form of shitting around with your friend in the McDonalds parking lot, incidents like the one that happened earlier today just don't leave my mind that easy. Now, I am the last girl to say that I will lose sleep over some random guy I met in the street, but his reaction to my void drawing just played in a loop over my head, spinning.. and spinning... until the image became a void in itself.
It also probably didn't help that my sister was in the living room/kitchen/bathroom blasting her stomp and holler music as if she was never gonna experience another indie music festival in her life.
ON TOP OF THAT, the air wasn't the perfect coolness and my sheets felt too constricting (hey, I don't mind complaining-hell, we love complainers over here).
So yeah, not the ideal setting for a good night's sleep, which was shown in my really weird dream...
In it, I was standing, but the ground didn't feel too steady. I immediately was aware that I was in a dream and became lucid, and took note of my surroundings, the purple haze in the sky, the city street that seemed to go on forever, and.. looked kinda familiar?
Suddenly, that strange guy is standing right in front of me, all up in my personal space, and he doesn't look the same.
His chin looked pointer than when I saw it last time, and his eyes didn't have that same warm, hazel twinkle to them. So, like any sensible person that is aware that they are dreaming, I do the test. I pinch his arm and pull it, but it doesn't stretch like slime in a jar like it's supposed to when everything in a dream is fake- visibly flabbergasted, I feel myself about to wake up, but then all of a sudden I feel his hand on my arm and he starts speaking.
"Calm down! I know you're dreaming, so am I-"
"So what- you're gonna try and assault me in my sleep? Was me avoiding you in real life not enough now you gotta fuck up my dreams? Well, that's just not gonna happen, funny boy- Wait is that MY VOID you're holding up???"
"Yes, I was trying to explain something important to you earlier, but let me just get to the point, it's the least I can do for interrupting your sleep"
His shoulders rise with the deep breath he takes, he managed to look tired even in a dream.
"I was so interested in your drawing because 1. It's pretty sick, and 2. I sorta..."
His feet shifted back and forth so bad I thought I was gonna faint just from watching him do it."I sorta... see these in real life and thought you did too, based on how well you drew them."
The ground seemed to cave in on me, right at the same time that my stomach dropped.
This dude had to be joking. first, he visits my dream after meeting him for THE FIRST TIME earlier that day, and now he's saying that he somehow sees what I draw during my shitty English class in real life?
"Hold on, just wait a sec-"
"I'm sorry, I have to go, but I hope to meet you again sometime in real life"
He starts to fade into the busy street, and I hear the sound of stomping and well... hollering, in the back of my head.
"Wake up. Wake up" I say to myself as I roll my eyes and pinch my hands into fists. I wake up in a room that's hot all of a sudden and a realization that I can't move anything. My half-lidded eyes scan the room that's bare, save for a few clothes on the ground and... someone in my room? Oh! That's just the weird monster that shows up every time I get sleep paralysis!
