It was dead silent at the gates. I thought I'd have to sneak over the walls for our meeting. Turns out I could just leave, since I wasn't on any wanted posters. In fact, someone shot me a compliment as I was leaving. Surprising, since I'd only been in town for three days. Admittedly, I'd made myself known already, by being a generally good person and fighting off the dragon. Way to go Aether, you're laying low.
Diluc passed out Fatui masks before we went into where the Holy Lyre was being hidden. He said it was serving as a disguise, and that we couldn't drop hints. My sword was too well known, despite only being seen a few times, so I was forced to use my bow for this whole ordeal. Diluc walked in front, clearing defenses out, before going up some stairs towards the next room. We were faced by a guard at the top near the door.
"No, NO! Don't eat me! Ah? You're... You're human? The entire floor's defenses... have been broken. I thought it was the Abyss Order attacking..."
"Oh my archons... This is so dumb..."
"We have come for the Holy Lyre der Himmel."
"He's lying. We came for your life."
"Ahh, Ah, Ah! No, don't! I have valuable information! I'll tell you! We hid the Holy Lyre in the depths of these ruins. The place it's being kept is locked up tight. If you're after the key, keep going further into the ruins, but d—don't come after me! I don't know which one of the guards has it, but I'm sure you can find the guards and find out for yourselves."
"This guy looks like he's about to wet himself..."
"Y—You just worry about yourselves! One of the Harbingers is already in Mondstadt. Signora. When she gets her hands on you she's going to string you up and torture you. When that time comes, don't you dare say a word about me."
"You can go, but don't let me see you again."
The guard nodded shakily before running past us. If I could be menacing, that was the height of it, right there. I actually got the info we needed by only saying one sentence, and got a bit of extra from a second one. It was almost enough to make me laugh. Almost. We searched for the gate key, and we got access to the next room, this one larger than the first.
We fought a few Fatui agents, which provided a lot less trouble than I thought it would. I even picked up a few tactics from Diluc. Learning how to use a weapon of that size came with its own challenges, but even that wasn't too terrible. The blade of the new weapon matched my sword, so I still couldn't have it out with the Fatui around, for the same reasons as my sword.
Once we had cleared all the rooms, we reported back to the center with our findings. Diluc was fortunate enough to get the key to get past the next door. We opened it, and sure enough, the Holy Lyre was waiting for us, guarded by the most menacing person in the whole hideout. Naturally, we beat them, no sweat. And the lyre was back in our hands.
"Finally, the lyre is back in safe hands. Where did he go, though? He was here a second ago..."
