It hasn't even been 5 minutes, but I'm already tapping my foot impatiently.
At least in my mind, she is several hours late.
"What am I even doing here."
As soon as I start regretting every decision that led to the current situation, I spot her. She is currently ascending the stairs before spotting me and walking in my direction.
The blue-haired comet girl is as stylish as ever, wearing a dark blue one-piece dress with lace sleeves. It glues to her body, accentuating her slim figure. Adorned with jewelry, like a golden collar around her neck and bracelet on her pulse, she moves confidently, showing she is used to the short heels on her feet.
Suisei looks dazzling, stunning even. And I hate it.
I cross my arms while waiting for her to close the distance. She may be beautiful, but I know I'm no slouch either. I'm not the same person I was six months ago. I also wear a one-piece that almost mirrors my most recent stream costume. It's on the shorter side, but not even a month of basically being in a vegetative state can undo all the dance lessons and practice I had been going through. I'm perfectly confident in my legs.
With a parka coat covering myself and the usual set of accessories, a cute chocker, and ribbons on my loose, almost completely straight hair, I'm sure to not look out of place standing next to the gifted songstress.
"You're late, peko."
"Hah? It's 5 minutes until the agreed time."
"I don't care, isn't the person who invited supposed to make sure they arrive earlier?"
The other girl stops right next to me. It looks like she's examining me from top to bottom and has a hard time hiding the surprise showing on her face. But before I can feel any satisfaction from it, she sighs and just concedes.
"Fine, my bad."
Huh? Did she apologize? I mean, it's not the first time, but still, I didn't expect this.
"So, what did you call me for, Suisei-senpai?"
I can feel her eyes glued tightly to me. Like she's examining every part of my body. It's honestly pretty uncomfortable, but I'm in no position to talk since I'm doing the same. And it is definitively not because she looks beautiful. I just don't want to miss anything, any sign of her intentions, and I'm in such a mood I'd smack anyone who said otherwise.
"Suisei-senpai?"
She finally seems to snap out of it. With an "Ah, sorry," she finally gets to the point. "There is somewhere I want to go."
"So, why did you invite ME? Let me be perfectly honest, Suisei-senpai. You're the last person I'd want to spend time with."
Her sharp expression wavers, but that only lasts a second. I got to admit her resilience is second to none, and she only needs a brief pause to recover from my sudden blow.
"And yet you still came here."
Tsk. What an annoying woman. "I was curious, that's all."
"Riight. I want to talk to you, and there is somewhere I think would be perfect."
I definitively don't want to. My brain keeps screaming, don't go, don't go, don't go -- but my body refuses to act upon it.
After a brief internal struggle, a heavy sigh leaves my lips as I open my mouth. "Haaaaa... Fine, peko."
A soft, relieved smile betrays her iron facade. But she pretends like nothing happened as she starts walking away, probably expecting me to chase after her as she leads the way.
