It was a contract.

That's what he said.

Excuses, excuses! The being knew that Morax was just using the lame 'contract' excuse again. So what if you signed a contract to get rid of me? It's not like you didn't introduce the contract yourself, it thought.

It'd been thinking those thoughts for centuries. All that time alone had allowed it time for it's wrath and hatred for Morax to grow. Apparently, Morax - or the person he signed the contract with - thought his power to be too dangerous. Tch, that was stupid. It'd never planned to do anything with the power, had it? Of course, being locked away in who-knows-where had driven this being mad. Now, it had so many plans on how to use it's power to cause destruction. Either it could destroy Liyue, or Morax himself.

But that was all a fantasy, if it escaped it's eternal prison. It yearned to move, or at least claw at the prison trapping it. It couldn't, not unless someone broke the statue it was encased inside of. And it was impossible to break, having a seal cast upon it by Morax himself to be unbreakable. Ugh, that idiot god thought of everything.

It wondered every so often if Morax had perished, but it knew he hadn't. It's been long enough, come on! If Morax had died, it would be released from it's prison. Which was annoying, because Morax seemed to never die. Oh yeah, see this nation? It's got a new archon! What about Liyue? Oh yeah it's still got it's SAME GOD DAMN ARCHON, MORAX.

It tried to will it's rage to break it out, but it couldn't. Nothing could ever break a seal of Morax's. After all these years, there was nothing to be done. Nothing. And it wanted to do something. Something. Something. It raged and raged, unable to do anything.

As it began to calm, though, it felt a twinge of something. The ground shook, and the rush of water could be heard. Time passed, and it waited in anticipation. Finally, the noise died down. Nothing happened. Disappointment shot through it. It'd hope something would break the seal. 30 minutes passed, but it felt like no time at all to the creature. Suddenly, it could breathe. What? Then, it realized. The seal was weakening. It could tell. Why was it weakening? Morax wasn't dead; the seal was still there. But it was fragile. Vulnerable. It wouldn't break right away... but it would break soon.
