Nothing about his tone indicates he's truly happy to see Alek. Nicolas turns to look at you. "And i have no idea what you're doing here."

I try not to squirm under Nicolas's sharp gaze. "Shouldn't you be headed home? You're not part of my social circle, so i have no idea how you can afford to get in."

Nicolas approaches me, a sneer on his face. His voice is quiet, but his words chill me. "I'll tell everyone about your little secret."

( H-have i been found out already?! )

( What should i do? I can't tell him Alek got me in! I need the opportunities this'll bring! Why does he have to be such an sharp asshole?)

I take a deep breath, preparing to answer. Alek cuts me off.

"I'm surprised, Nicolas. Since when do you take interest in others? And a woman too.."
Alek's eyes widen, and he suddenly starts nodding to himself.

"I guess i didn't realize.. ofcourse you'd investigate woman you're interested in. She is pretty after all. What exactly did you-"

"Interested? In her? Have you lost your mind, Aleksander?" Nicolas brushes past Alex and walks inside.

I breathe a sigh of relief. "Thanks.." Alek smiles. "Anytime. He was just gonna try to bully you into admitting you don’t belong here or something."

"I mean, he's not far off." Alek scowls at me and puts his hands on his hips. "You do belong here. Probably even more than i do. I'm just some politican-brat-turned actor. Your family was quite prominent for many years."

I bite my lip. "But we're not now. Not anymore.." Alex pats me on the shoulder. "And you've worked your ass off since. Come on, let's go inside."

I follow Alek in, nervous about our interaction with Nicolas.

I fight the urge to stop in my tracks when we enter and hurry to keep up with Alek. ( This is insane, how can a university clubhouse be so fancy?! How much money went into this place, just so rich students could feel like hanging out in here? )

"Thanks again, by the way. I'll try not to squander this opportunity."I smiled "I know you won't. That's why i stuck my neck out to get you in." Alek beams at me. "I think the meeting is upstairs."

We head up a large, wide staircase. "By the way, did you ever decide what you were gonna major in?" Alek asks "I'm still not sure. I'm leaning toward business, but i'm undecided for now. There's part of me that really wants to rekindle dad's old business. But then again, i feel like i'll do well no matter what path i pick. Maybe more generic company job would work?"

Alex taps his chin thoughtfully. "That makes sense for you, i guess. But i think it's pretty important for you to follow your dreams too." I gently nudge him with my elbow. "Baised much?" Alek raises his hands. "Guilty as charged. But seriously, is business really where you wanna go? Did you like, want to be something else as a kid? Wasn't it like a dancer or a singer or something?"

"Pfft, that was ages and ages ago. I'm more realistic in my goals now. And what about you? Did you mention that your dad wanted you to go into politics?" Alex gives me an anguished look.

"He wanted me to go into business too. Or political sience. Basically anything that is not acting." Alek stares at the floor for a few long moments.

"I guess i really am baised. If you have an option, Y/n, pursue what you love while you can." ( Did he have a fight with his dad again? I know his dad really hates his acting career, but is it that bad..? )

"I know this might sound odd, coming from me, but you need to take your own advice. Do what makes you happy. If That's acting.." Alek gives me a small smiles. "I know, i know. I just wish it were that easy."
