The next day, Monday, was a different than usual. Shaun, a man of organization, had a schedule, a system, that he went by, but today, his schedule was messed up. Shaun usually rushes out if bed, because if he stays there to long he'll fall back asleep, then he takes a shower, puts his cloths on, and brushes his teeth and hair, to run downstairs to see what his mother had cooked. Today, he didn't do any of that. Instead of rushing, he took his time. Actually today, he didn't even have to shower in the morning because he did last night. Then, he realized he did not smell the freshly cooked bacon, or pancakes that would usually await for him downstairs. As Shaun steadily walked down the wooded steps, he over heard his mother and father talking, which was weird because he usually meets his father as he is leaving, just saying goodbye.
His father says, "Debbie, this will be good for him."
Debbie responds, "You know why I am sad. My dad. Dead. The military is no place for him, I'm sorry but he has more to offer."
David kisses her forehead, "It's his choice. I have to go I'm already late, have a good day."
Shaun walks into the kitchen with them as David just tells his wife bye, and then Shaun tells his father bye.
Seeing his mother in her pajamas, drinking coffee staring at him with her big puppy dog eyes like she is trying to hold back tears, gave Shaun an uneasey feeling.
Finally, Shaun breaking the awkward silence says, "how did you sleep," as he was pouring fruity pebbles in a bowl with milk.
"Fine fine, how about you sweety?"
"Good, I had a weird dream," he says trying not to keep anything from her, "there was these mutants. . . They was attacking me, I don't know what they wanted," he hesitates trying to remember, "maybe that's how my basic training is going to be," he says trying to lighten up the mood but realizes he made things all the more worse.
He looks at the old wooden clock, that read 6:37. He was almost late for leaving for school, as Shaun is a man of organization, he has specific times. He finishes his cereal, kisses his mother, "love you mom," and rushes for the door. He has a blue Toyota Tacoma, that he drives everywhere. Well to school and football practice. Shaun reaches the school's parkinglot, after going 18.3 miles through woods that seemed to him. His school is an average size school, there is 672 students, for the size of the county. Shaun usually parked by the field house, that's next to the football field, so when he leaves, there isn't many people. He goes into his first period, athletics, so he can meet up with his friends and workout. The coaches really don't care what they do, but Shaun is trying to keep in shape.
Coach Bacco, a tall, muscular man with a bald head that makes you thinks he waxes it, takes role, that was Shauns head football coach. The immediate "Here" from the athletes, is natural because it is in every class they do that. When Shaun reaches his last class of the day, Agricultural that he is usually to tired to care about because Calculus, and English are two difficult classes to have one after another. As they wad in the wood shop, Michael, a tall male, that is more 'redneck' than anyone at the school, stands up next to Eric, Shaun's short but still muscular football friend, as if he wanted to fight him. Shaun, not aware of what is about to happen, steps in front of Eric taking the powerful blow to the jaw that was for Eric's nose. Shaun now on the ground, looked over in his blurry vision to see that Eric had Micheal pinned against the wall as, Michael's friends, Jim and Chris, two average sized kids grab Eric by the back. Shaun jumped up reactively fast, and starts for Chris, as he was to busy on prying Eric off Michael. Eric had a short temper, when he is angry, his face is red and he doesn't remember what he does. Jim still on Eric's back, Eric not seeming to notice from pounding on Michael, leaves Shaun throwing Chris into a concrete, running after Jim to football-tackle him. Shaun and Eric were in a jujutsu class together both graduating with black belts, making it easy for them to win a two on three fight. The teacher just walking in from the office to run copies, seeing the crowd, busts in with anger. Mr. Aaron, a bigger man, that's nicer than anyother teacher with black hair and a full beard, calls for Coach Boggs, the most scariest, most immediating, most life-threating man to ever walk the Earth. He had his normal button up collard shirt, with black dress pants, with his big nose, and bald head, there was a scar that ran from his right temple to his right eye. After he seeing the blood everywhere, he bursts with pure 'Boggs anger'. This time, there isn't a word to describe the anger that arose from his face. No one saying a word, the mighty Boggs sends them all to office as if he was ready to kill someone. Shaun and Eric walk there barely hurt, except for their knuckles, leaving the rest of the three limbing scarcely to it. As Shaun and Eric sat there with a grin on there face, they seen the mighty Boggs enter and immediately turn down to face the ground.
"Come to my office Shaun." Boggs says with the same tone that he uses to silence a lunchroom.
"Yes sir," Shaun says walking into into the room
"What are you thinking son?" He says with force
"Sir," he pauses, "Michael had a knife."
Boggs expression changed, "why didn't you tell the teacher?"
"Sir, he could killed Eric."
Boggs, now looking with a new expression, not quite readable by Shaun. "Go wait out my office."
"Yes sir," gathering his bag, and leaving the door.
He hears Michael's name com from Biggs room.
As he meets up with Eric he says, "I told him that Michael had a knife, I know he does, because I seen the shine of it on his pocket."
Eric's face stares at Shaun, "wow nice thinking."
" Yeah, now what was that about?"
"Don't worry about it." Eric says hesitantly.
"I deserve to know," Shaun demanded, "I did take that punch for you'
"Dude leave it," Eric instisted.
"Whatever, I have your back anytime." Shaun gives him a look. Even though he was extremely mad, he was a great friend. He would give anything for his friends, and his family. Eric, with his ocean blue eyes, and blonde spiked hair, that favored his baby face, and Shaun have been friends since kindergarten.
Boggs exits from his office.
"You two, you're going to be at 180 until finals. Come back for finals and then you're out. You're lucky I don't have you arrested. Since neither of you hurt them in any serious way, as in broken bones, you just defended yourself." Even coach Boggs, being the most strict person ever, cared about his students like his own children.
"I called your mothers."
