Arrested

You felt safe and as though everything would be ok but little did you know things were far from ok. But for now though you peacefully slept as your Mom watched over you.

You woke up to the sound of your Mom's panicked but hushed voice. "What do you mean he escaped?! Do you know what hell he put my daughter through?! Please find him!!"

"Ma'am please calm down. What happened to your daughter is horrible but we're doing the best we can. I've been sent here to protect you both as the rest of my team searches for him." The officer replied in a hushed but calm voice.

The realization of what she was talking about suddenly hit you.
'Escaped? So..He may not get locked up? He maybe out there waiting to get his revenge on me?' Horrible thoughts of what might happen began flooding your mind.

Your Mom noticed you were awake now and immediately sat at your side gently holding you in a hug. "I'm glad your awake. How're you feeling?" Your Mom smiled at you.

"I'm alright. Still sore but I think the pain medicine is helping keep most of it away. Is it true Mom? He escaped?" Your Moms happy expression dropped as she sighed softly. "I was hoping you didn't hear us but honestly yes. It's true. But don't worry I'm going to protect you sweetheart. He'll never get anywhere near you again."

You nodded as you were filled with anxiety but at the same time you were still too sleepy to really act freaked out. "Thank you Mom." You laid against her hoping they would catch him and not lose him a second time.

You heard the officers walkie talkie go off as someone began speaking through it. "Suspect is in custody. Repeat suspect is in custody over."

Your Mom sighed in relief as you closed your eyes hoping this was truly the end. You honestly weren't sure how much more you could handle if they wouldn't have recaught him. You saw the officer listening to and then talking to his walkie talkie again. You tried to listen to what was being said but failed as he was too far away from you to hear the words that were exchanged.

"Ma'am if you'll excuse me now that he's been caught again they want all officers in the room so he can't escape again. I promise it won't happen again you and your daughter can rest easy now." He nodded at you and your mom before exiting the room.

"It's gonna be ok now. Why don't you lay down? You need as much rest as possible so you can heal." Your mom softly smiled at you. You weakly smiled back but shook your head. "I need to go to the bathroom first if that's ok Mom."

She nodded and as soon as you were about to get up she was at your side offering a helping hand. You accepted her help gently taking her hand as she helped lift you to your feet. You luckily had enough pain meds in your system to where standing didn't hurt too much.

Your Mom gently helped you walk to the bathroom and once inside you gripped onto the bar on the wall for support. "If you need help standing back up or anything call me I'll be right outside the door alright?" Your mom gave you a reassuring look as you nodded before she shut the door giving you privacy.

You tried your best to gently sit and use the bathroom. As you were using the restroom you heard a knock at the door to your hospital room before it opened.

"Is everything alright officer?" You heard your mom's muffled voice through the door. You heard a male voice that sounded slightly familiar replying to her. You assumed it was the officer from before and finished using the restroom.

Your mom heard flushing from the restroom and gently knocked on the door. "Honey do you need help?" You shook your head "No thank you Mom I think I can walk out on my own. Thank you though." You replied taking a deep breath before slowly approaching the door to leave the bathroom.
