The train came to a halt and Eunha opened her eyes. She had quickly grown tired of the repeating images flashing through the window and decided to take a nap. But that didn't happen as the possibility of her sleeping through the station kept her wide awake. So just closing her eyes was the only option.
It was dark outside now, so she guessed it must've been past 7 pm now, nothing she can't handle.
If it were any other city she had taken the train to, Eunha would've taken the next train back home because where would she stay? But she was somewhat right when she said whatever happens, happens for the best, or atleast a purpose, because Busan was Eunha's hometown, and in her hometown even though her parents had rented their old house to a family, they left the studio apartment for any future work related business.
It was still chilly outside, the winters were going away and spring slowly rolling in. She regretted not wearing something warm with her not so thick t-shirt. She hoped that she had atleast grabbed onto a hoodie or two while packing her stuff.
Her stomach grumbled.
Great.
If she was correct while guessing the time, it's now officially been 9 hours since she last ate. Mina couldn't help but curse a few times, the thought of stopping by a super market to get ramen and hailing a cab frustrated her beyond imagination.
But She didn't have money for a stupid cab.
Maybe being cold made her extra cranky about the whole ordeal, after all, not eating anything for 9 hours was no big deal for her.
She had survived more than that on an empty stomach.
Anyways, She decided not to hail a cab to save money. She had no idea how long this vacation would last.
And so, she began walking, following sign boards and relying on her memory of where their old house was.
.
.
.It had been almost 40 minutes since she started walking when she started to recognise the neighbourhood. And if she her memory was strong enough there must be a supermarket....right......there!
Eunha grinned and skipped to the supermarket in joy. The cold didnt bother her on her way because she had grown numb from it, but she realised how cold it really was outside as soon as she stepped in the warm supermarket.
She huffed and waddled to the ramen aisle, grabbed 5 packets of the spicy ones and went to the cashier. They greeted each other, though Eunha just grunted, the cold was starting to get to her. She quickly paid and left the warmth of the supermarket.
Not wanting to spend any more time than required in the cold she run-walked to the opposite direction to the supermarket, where she was sure the apartment was.
And sure enough, a 2 storey-building came into view. She paused for a moment, forgetting about the cold as a huge wave of nostalgia drowned her. She could feel her eyes getting teary as they started to sting.
All the past memories of her childhood in that apartment started playing before her eyes as if she was sitting in a movie theater. From The neighbourhood kids she used to play with to the occasional water fights she used to have with her family. Everything.
The didn't last for too long though.
Feeling conscious even though no one was around and not wanting to cry in the middle of a street, she looked down, took a few deep breaths, rolled her shoulders (that was a bad idea, her shoulder cracked and she almost got a muscle cramp) she quickly made her way towards the building.
