- The beginning

Friday - 7:48 PM

"Mama, can we pleaaaase play golf or fazerblast? I don't want to do yoga, I want to have fun.." The young girl complained to her mom, tugging on her hand.

Her mom rolled her eyes. "No Madeline, those are for boys, you should do the stuff the girl robots are doing, you're too girly to go shooting people. Now come on, we are going to Mazercise, you are going to have plenty of fun. We did not drive an hour just for you to do stuff you shouldn't be doing.

"Diane, please-" The girl's dad tried to reason with his wife. "Come on. Just let her have some fun today, Madi doesn't get to do anything like this."

"Daniel be quiet. She has the chance to do this all the time. She has just as much fun when she's in the backyard playing with her dolls, isn't that right Madeline?" Diane looked at her daughter, her eyebrows furrowed.

Madeline, afraid of her mother's wrath, reluctantly agreed with her.

Daniel sighed. He hated when his wife did this. "Fine, let's go then.."

His wife smirked. "Good. Let's go, I already have the passes." Diane dragged the two across the mall to Mazercise. When they entered, they were surprised to see a group of kids around the age of Madeline. They all were surrounding a tall figure. It was white and was wearing a pink costume. Madeline could recognize that character from anywhere, that was Chica the Chicken!

She gave the children high fives and hugs as they surrounded her. There was an event going on that the family wasn't aware of. Diane nudged her daughter towards the other kids. "Why don't you go say hi, sweetie?"

Madeline looked at her mom hesitantly. "Umm... Ok.." She slowly stepped towards the group of children and the giant robot. Madeline couldn't deny that she was a little bit scared of the animatronics, so being this close to one was frightening.

"Alrighty, baby chicks! It's time for a drawing contest! You're going to grab a piece of paper and some crayons and draw your favorite member of the Fazbear band!" Once chica announced this, children began grabbing papers and boxes of colorful crayons from the S.T.A.F.F bots around the room, including Madeline.

Diane and Daniel watched as the kids scattered around the room, most of them remaining near Chica. The two of them sat down on one of the many couches. Diane pulled out her phone as Daniel watched his daughter happily draw on the floor. Madeline was scribbling with the green crayon when Chica walked up and sat next to her. "Who you drawing there, popstar?" The robot asked as she leaned over to see the paper. The girl silently gave Chica the paper. She gasped, the drawing was so cute! It had Madeline next to Montgomery Gator, one of the other animatronics apart of Freddy's band. "Ooooh, that's my friend Monty! Is that you next to him?" Madi nodded, feeling less scared of the giant robot chicken. "Ya know, he may look scary, but he's actually just a big softy inside!" Something was off about what she said, Madeline hadn't noticed it all that much at the time. Chica awkwardly smiled and stood up, clapping to get everyone's attention. "Everyone, everyone! We got the contest winner over here!" She picked up Madeline and held her in the air. Madeline wasn't expecting this to happen and was just overall confused. "What's your name, sweetie pie?"

"M-Madeline.." The girl answered, still a bit in shock.

"Give it up for Madeline everyone!" The kids and a few adults clapped. Madeline felt a smile creep up on her face. She laughed with the kids around her as Chica set her down. "You can go to the prize counter and ask for one thing for free, you can get anything! It's on me!"

"Okay, Chica!!" Madeline quickly hugged the animatronic, then ran to her parents, her father cheering for her.

"Wooo! Good job, Madi!" Madeline tackled her dad and gave him a big hug.

"Did you hear that daddy, did you hear? I get to have a free item from the prize counter!"

"That's amazing sweetie! Can I see your drawing?"

"Mhm, mhm!" She showed Daniel the drawing of her with Monty. Diane turned to look at the two. She saw the drawing, put her phone in her designer bag, and snatched the paper as she stood up.

She positioned her fingers at the top of the paper then ripped it down the middle. "What did I tell you?!" She grabbed Madeline's hand and dragged her out the door.

Daniel followed behind quickly. "Woah woah woah, Diane what the hell?!"

"We are going home, Daniel. NOW." Diane's yelling caused a few people to stare at the family.

"Wh- Fine. But let us get her gift from the prize counter at least, we've only been here for an hour and a half.."

Madeline spoke up, "But- But... I want to stay! Just a little bit longer, please..?"

The annoyed mother rolled her eyes. "Fine, we will get your stupid gift. But we are leaving right after." Madeline tried to hold in her tears, she was scared of her mom and had never gotten to do anything like this. The only thing she is allowed to do at home is stay in her room and play with her dolls. She doesn't get to have a nice family dinner where she connects with her family. If she does, it's when her dad brings home McDonalds and they sit down in the living room watching Doc McStuffins together. "Now come on, let's go get your dumb prize.
