the next night: winter formal
"I don't know if this is a good idea." Fezco huffed as we walked through the crowds of people.
"It'll take our minds off of things." i held his hand tighter as we made our way to a familiar table.
Yes i made Fezco go to the winter formal with me. And yes we went to winter formal a day after robbing and beating up my father and witnessing a young kid bonk two people in the head with a hammer. Was that crazy? Yes. But one more minute locked up in that house with my thoughts and i'll go crazy.
I already took like two xanax before we got here and i'm having the time of my life. The anxiety that's been building up since i stopped taking them has been haunting me. I know i promised Fezco i'd stop relying on drugs to feel better but i can't right now. I'm at the point in my life where i just don't want to feel anything, and without xanax, i feel everything.
"Oh my god, Aster!" The girls cheered as we headed for the table.
"Rue!" I walked towards her to give her a hug. "You clean up well." i smiled at her outfit. "And Jules! You look hot as fuck." i hugged her.
"And you! The dress is beautiful. You guys look amazing!" She complimented both Fezco and I together.
"Yeah. I've never seen Fez look nice." Rue teased him as they hugged.
"Shut up, kid. I always look nice." he showed off his suit. He did look nice tonight. He really knows how to clean up.
He talked it up with Rue and Jules as i went to say hi to the Howard sisters and Kat.
"You guys all look hot as fuck." I hugged each and every one of them. I swear i haven't seen any of the girls in so long because life's been hectic this past week.
