set scene harper is walking on the sharklena's side of town with louise and riff. they're trying to find maria broken heart emoji
harper dramatically clutches the fence in front of her and closes her eyes
"maria. the most beautiful sound i ever heard" harper starts singing
"yo what the fuck" louise and riff both say
"maria. maria. maria" harper keeps singing all depressed
louise bitch slaps her
"alright this isnt time for a musical number lets go find your girl" riff says as he climbs over the fence like spider-man
harper and louise follow and riff helps both of them do w n
harper keeps singing maria but each time it's getting louder and louise has to cover her ears because it's really off pitch
"you know, why do you have to go after a sharklena girl? you're making me look bad homie" louise says to her bff
"i told you, i'm done with this jetette versus sharklena bullshit," harper sings back
"no no no no no no no. here's the deal, we're helping you find your little girlfriend... you gotta meet me and the jetettes in the wendy's parking lot tomorrow night" louise gets in front of harper to stop her from walking
"you and the jetettes are eating at wendys?" harper asks confused and continues walking past louise
"nah, my girl here thinks shes gonna beat bee's ass" riff smiles at louise
"i am," louise points his finger at him like derek shepherd did to harper in the other chapter
"you guys can leave now if you want, im not showing up" harper says to the two of them
"you're gonna show up, just wait and see. this sharklena girl aint gonna be worth it," louise tells harper
"yeah well, we'll see"
the three of them are just wandering aimlessly as harper keeps singing and riff starts doing cartwheels
they make it to a bunch of buildings.
"maria!" they all start shouting
"maria get your ass down here so we can leave!" riff yells hes a very aggressive person
"maria! maria! say it loud and theres music playing say it soft and it sounds like praying" harper is basically scream singing at this point
"sorry bestie, i don't think we're gonna find her" louise says after like thirty minutes of searching
harper falls to her knees and starts crying
riff and louise help their psychotic friend up, and they go back to climbing over the fence again.
suddenly riff goes quiet ,"babe, i think thats her" he says to louise and points at a girl in a white dress standing on her balcony
harper turns her head and stares in shock at maria. she climbs down from the fence and starts walking towards maria.
"hi! it's me," harper smiles and continues to walk to her
"are you crazy? what are you doing here?" maria sounds really annoyed
"you wanna come to chili's with me, louise, and riff?"
"no, go away"
"tomato tomato tomato" louise shouts at maria. her and riff are watching the interaction happen on the opposite side of the fence
"please go away, all of you. my sister's so angry now she might -"
"boo!" riff yells this time
harper begins climbing the stairs up to her. when she makes it to where maria is, she tries to push the gate open above her but it doesn't budge
"it's locked" harper looks up at maria and is straining her neck like shes sitting in the front row at amc
"yeah, but there's no key" maria says and leans down so she can see harper
"that's against the law you better report that to sheriff shepherd"
"ok i will tell lieutenant carisi tomorrow, but just go. bee will fuck you up if you dont"
"run away with me," harper says. maria starts laughing. "i'm being serious here. don't laugh"
"you want me to run away with you to chili's?"
"yes. right now."
"how about tomorrow?"
"deal" harper says while holding out her pinkie for maria to pinkie promise but they cant fit their fingers through the gate. harper begins to do some parkour and climb on the ledge of the balcony so she's where ansel elgort is standing in the cover to this fic
"be carfeul! whats your name?" marias asks as she wraps her pinkie around harper's aw
"harper" she says all smiley
"see you tomorrow, harper" maria smiles back
haper turns her head to look at her two friends who are still behind the fence watching. they both give her thumbs up and look really stupid
"how's 2 pm at taco bell?" harper asks because its taco bell tuesday tomorrow. maria agrees and harper begins to climb down
"wait! wait!" maria yells down to her. harper climbs back up to face maria again. "i forget why i called you"
"i'll wait until you remember," harper replies.
harper and maria stare at each other for a few seconds smiling, then maria leans forward to kiss harper. fireworks and confetti go off in the background
riff gets on one knee and puts his fist in the air yelling "gay rights!"
maria watches as harper climbs down to the ground and starts skipping to her two friends. she hops the fence and her friends high five her on the other side
"ready to see ryan?"
