Neon Lights

Chapter 4 - Northern Woods.

I followed a path surrounded by trees that arched over me. I went deeper in, the leaves crunching under my feet, the tall trees blocked out the sun.
It was gloomy and dark.
So scary!

"Akiko!!" I spun round in fright. Who was it!!?
"Its me Mikan!" She yelled.

I narrowed my eyes to see Mikan hurriedly running towards me with a broad smile and i sighed in releaf. Thank god it was her.
"Mikan!" I sobbed in relief. She laughed hugging me back.

I held her hand as we walked deeper into the forest.
"Mikan I told you I was going to do it by myself! It's just a stupid forest anyways!" I said grumpily remembering the task was given by Natsume.

Mikan sweat dropped as she clenched her teeth, "Akiko, you already know that in this school really strange and impossible things happen, so you should expect the scariest and weirdest things to pop up in a forest like this."

I laughed awkwardly, Mikan was right. I already witnessed many things that are impossible outside this academy so why should I expect it to be normal here?

I breathed in deeply furrowing my eyebrows, Mikan smiled and we exchanged looks.
We both had the same thought
"WE WILL NOT LOOSE TO THAT BAKA!" We both chorused then exploded with laughter.

"Mikan have you been here?" I asked looking at her confident face as she marched through the forest.

"Not really... But don't worry we should just walk straight forward!" She said boldly.
I felt my face stiffen, and my eyebrows wrinkled.
"That means you don't really know where your going." I said stiffly my eyebrows still wrinkled.
"Nope!" a heavy invisible piece of metal hit my head.
"YOU BAKA WE ARE LOST!" I yelled rolling around the floor and throwing a tantrum like a crybaby.

We are doomed!!

She suddenly smiled and started to cheer for herself?

"Akiko look! It's a wooden house! YAY! We are saved!" She exclaimed dancing in circles.
I jumped up and looked through the bushes.
There was a cottage with smoke coming out. And from behind I could see chunks of wood flying the opposite direction.

"Looks like we are in luck! Someone's here!" Mikan smiled cheerfully walking towards the back of the cottage.

"Mikan wait-" I ended up stumbling forward from the bushes and running after her.

"Oh look it's a teddy bear!" She exclaimed and the wood stopped flying so I walked towards the back.

"A teddy bear?" I glanced behind the cottage where Mikan was standing. "it's a teddy bear?" I cocked my head to see a teddy standing. What was a bear doing here.
Suddenly the bears head snapped towards us his beanie eyes glaring at us.
"AHH! ITS ALIVE!" I shrieked nearly jumping out of my skin.

"Oh don't worry it's probably a nice bear. Look at you your so cute!" Mikan walked up to the bear patting it on the head.
There was a spark in Bears eyes and he suddenly threw a punch at Mikan making her fly across the lawn.
"Eek!" I starred at the bear as it walked towards me.
I suddenly panicked and without thinking a grabbed the bucket of water and tipped it over the bear with my eyes closed.

I opened one eye shaking like a leaf.
Bear was soaked on the ground unable to move.

I hurriedly ran toward Mikan grabbed her by the scruff and dragged her across the floor as she lay paralysed.

"I wonder how her Alice looks like!"
"I bet 10 rabbits it's a really useless one!"
"I bet 50 rabbits she doesn't even have one!" The boys argued.
"Of course she don't have one she probably just tricked Narumi Sensei!" Sumire grinned evilly and laughed. "Right Natsume?" She glanced at Natsume who was looking down his eyes sharp.

"We all know this academy isn't a half arsed place who just let people transfer as they please." He said furiously yet bitterly.

"Of course! You're right Natsume!" Sumire laughed awkwardly

{Mikan's P.O.V}

I glanced at Akiko who was dazing off. It's felt good to have someone like her.
But she looked like me an awful lot. She had the same colour hair but her hair formed small loose curls and her eyes where a strong hazel colour.
We could become Sisters!

"Ne Mikan-chan why is Natsume always so grumpy?" She asked plumping herself down on a log to take a rest.
How would i know!?

"I'm not sure guess he was always like that!" I blurted out.

"Ah. And who's your partner?" She asked once again.

"Ruka-Pyon!" I exclaimed. "Anyways Akiko we should get some food." I jumped up and stretched out my foot, when suddenly the ground shook making me loose balance and drop face first.
Oww!

"What was that??" Akiko shuddered and her face froze. "Don't tell me an earthquake Is coming!?!" She jumped panicking making me grab a stick and smack it onto her head, "don't try scaring me like that!" I panicked.
"But it could happen!" She argued.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP

I jumped with Akiko as something it was coming closer... Like a huge alien or something.
Eek! I don't want to die!!

{Akiko's P.O.V}
Suddenly the trees parted and a MASSIVE yellow baby chicken stood there.
It was like 30 metres tall. I'm not good a maths but it was huge!!
I glanced at Mikan who was kneeling on the ground her hands together. Like in a praying position.

"Mikan-chan even though I just met you, you've made me happy and have earned a place in my heart. I hope we get a chance to see each other in the after world.." She mourned bowing down.

I grabbed a log and did a 360 in the air before slamming it onto her head, "I'm honored. BUT U BAKA WE SAID WE WILL NOT LOOSE!" I screamed into her ear, she unconsciously nodded spirals in her eyes. I think I hit the log a bit to hard.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

We looked up to see the huge chick running towards us "PIYOOO!" We both jumped out of our skins.

"MIKAN RUN!" I grabbed her by the wrist dragging her on the ground as I ran at full speed.

I looked back to see Piyo (the birds name) far in the back then turned to the front to see Ruka, I immediately stopped but with the speed I was running I ended up bashing into him.

"Ruka!?" I stood up taking out a hand but yet he slapped it away. And then glanced at Mikan.

"What happen to Mikan?" He asked.
I glanced at her recalling the moment where I bashed a log onto her head.
"Hehe nothing...anyways why are you here, Ruka?" I asked.

"I got blackmailed by Hotaru, to help you." He said angrily glaring at us.
"Hotaru!" I looked at Mikan which I was still holding by the collar, "EAAHH! Where's the birdie!" I slammed my fist onto her head making her faint again. "You stay asleep!" I said pointing my finger. And Ruka thank you!" I smiled.
But he brushed it off "I don't intend to help you just cause you need it. I have to. Don't look."

{Natsume's P.O.V}
"Natsume! I heard they are using Ruka!"
I glanced at Naoki.
Then I turned my head towards the seat where Hotaru Imai usually sits...it was empty.
Tch. Such a dirty trick to blackmail him.
That new girl.
Will Die for taking Ruka as a weapon!
"Oi Natsume where are you going!"
I stopped.
"To get Ruka. The game is over." I murmured.

Oh and Hotaru wasn't introduced yet since I guess she wasn't in class :P
