"Can we be friends again?"

Friends.

Although to most it may not have seemed like a lot, it was a start and Jaehyun would take that.

Obviously the boy had gladly agreed to the proposal, elated that things may not be so cold and awkward now.

He had already told Johnny the good news, and Ten, and really anyone else who would listen. That included the grocery store bagger, the school librarian, and a stranger waiting at the same crosswalk as Jaehyun this morning.

He was supposed to be working on an assignment at the moment, but was obviously distracted, his mind far away.

The only thing that brought him back was the buzz of his phone, alerting him he had received a message.

Seeing the I.D., Jaehyun smiled. It was Taeyong, obviously. The Lee had requested they re-exchange numbers.

TY
can I come over??
12:32

He was just about to type a response that really didn't require a whole lot of thinking when the older messaged him again.

TY
it's an emergency
12:33

Knowing the Lee pretty well, Jaehyun could assume it really wasn't, but he complied anyway.

JH
sure

It didn't take Taeyong long to show up, only a short elevator ride. Before too long, there was an anxious knock on his door.

Jaehyun didn't know what he was expecting, but it sure wasn't what he saw when he opened the door.

Staring at the crimson stains on the older's shirt and hands, Jaehyun could only assume.
"Did you kill someone?"

"What?" Taeyong knew the younger knew his reasons for looking this way, but obviously he had to make jokes. "Of course not."

Jaehyun chuckled as he invited the older in, looking him up and down. "So you're dyeing the hair again?"

Taeyong nodded, his arms full of hair supplies. "It was time for a change."

Jaehyun held back a smile. It was hard to take the older seriously with the way his hair currently looked like. To summarize, it was a painted, gooey red mess. It looked as if he had started the process and given up halfway through.

Now Jaehyun was wary. "So what's my job?"

Holding out a pair of gloves with his stained hands, Taeyong pleaded with all he had. "Your job is to put this stuff in my hair because I know I'll miss a spot."

"Don't you usually have this professionally done?" Jaehyun was hesitant to accept. Taeyong was particular about his hair and he didn't want to know what the older would do if he messed up.

"I can't afford it." Taeyong frowned, shoving the gloves closer to the other boy. "I'd ask Yuta or Doyoung, but they both have class right now. Please."
