When Jungkook awakens, he is still screaming.

He wastes no time in removing his covers and sprinting down the winding corridors towards his parents' bedroom before any of the servants can attend to him. He yanks their door open, the wood swinging inward and slamming against the adjacent wall. His parents are startled awake by the sudden sound, his Appa reaching for the sword Jungkook knows he keeps beside his nightstand, but their expressions soften as they see him.

Ignoring their sleepy concerned questions, Jungkook rushes to the bedside and practically leaps into his eomma's open arms. She gently rocks him as she whispers maternal comfort into his ear, his Appa providing quiet reassurance at her shoulder. Jungkook sighs contentedly, content in the knowledge that they're alive, that he'll be fine, that it was all a dream.

Until he opens his eyes and notices the mirror behind his parents. The doppelganger is standing in the ornate glass, and Jungkook watches, nearly catatonic with fear, as the Other reaches out to his face, moving aside the fringe covering his eye. Where there was once a bright brown eye, there is now an elaborate pentagram, with blood steadily weeping from beneath it. Jungkook opens his mouth, perhaps to alert his parents to the presence of this supernatural intruder, but all that comes out is a long, unending scream.

Nobody else can see the Other's demonic eye, which is glowing an ethereal purple and emitting an evil aura.

No one else can see the Other's malicious grin as black smoke surrounds him, a fanged smile appearing in the darkness.

No one else can see the Other's mouth silently form a single word.

Soon.
