Chapter 1.
Aether POV.
The harsh freezing wind of Dragonspine blew harshly against my pale skin. Me and Paimon were out on Dragonspine exploring after my last commission that just happened to be in this area.
'I should've worn better clothes for this' I though annoyed by the cold as I covered my exposed stomach with my arms at a failed attempt to keep myself warm.
"Paimon's getting really cold! we should go find a campfire soon." Paimon suggested, shivering while holding herself to keep warm.
I nodded, it was best to find warmth soon before we both freeze out here. We continued down a dirt path mostly covered by snow for awhile. Yet no sign of any campfire, this wasn't good. It felt like it was getting colder by the second. Me and Paimon decided to start heading towards Albedo's campsite, though it was still very far away. We'd just have to teleport closer. As soon as I opened my map ready to teleport, I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. Which only caused the map to close again without teleporting away. I hadn't realized that there were hillichurls right behind us. I pulled out the arrow that was shot in my shoulder and summoned my sword. I charged towards the archer hillichurls, jumping up and plunged my sword into one of the hillichurls head as it turned to yellow dust blowing away in the wind. I spun around quickly only to see that a Cryo Whopperflower had joined in on the fight.
'Shit, where did that Whopperflower come from!?' I cursed under my breath and jumped back when it released its line of icicles from the ground. Although I jumped, the timing was off as one of the icicles had gashed my leg.
'My reaction time must be slowed due to the cold' I thought. 'There's no way I can fight with this injury' I quickly opened my map and teleported away to Starglow Cavern holding on to Paimon. I slowly limped my wat into the cavern, spotting a huge boulder to rest against. As I made my way over, I slid down the rock closing my eyes tightly
"Are you okay?!" Paimon floated over to me with worry plastered on her face.
I felt tired from all the blood lose, all I wanted was to sleep. My eyes grew heavy.
"Hold on, Paimon will go get help!" She said before flying out of the cave in a hurry.
